I have two 9mm and I'd like to consider adding a red dot to at least one of them.

I have a v2 of the Sig P365 and about a 4 yr old P226. The P226 would be the first though.

Do you know if there is enough meat on the top of the slide to mill a set of grooves to hold one in place?

It possibly might depend on the optic....but I’ve had several p226 slides machined for an RMR.

The short answer is yes. You probably have several options on the p226, but on the p365, I think you are currently limited to the Shield RMSc and the Romeo Zero. Galloway Precision comes to mind as a place doing P365 slides. I would wait for the Holosun 407k and 507k, though.

I sent a P226 slide to L&M, they did a fantastic job. I used a Trijicon RM01 for the RDS.
