The Stinger definitely needed the 500 round break-in that is suggested. It actually was pretty good after 300 rounds and now runs like a clock. It did slingshot right out of the box, which many commander length Baers will not do. I have two full size Baers right now, and have owned two others. None of them ever had one failure right out of the box. |

| Why Les Baer? Their finish sucks. The entire tight as a drum break in is because they make you do all of the final fitting they should've done. I've have and have had lots of 1911's......I currently own almost 10 of them now.
My Colt Competition 9mm is the nicest sub $1000 1911 and has a really tight slide to frame fit and bushing fit and shoots really nice.
Above the $1000 level, I'd spend a tad more than a Baer and go straight to an Ed Brown. My Ed Brown Kobra 5" is my favorite of them all, while my Wilson Combat just sits in the safe...... |
