I have a few revolvers, including a S&W 19 K-Comp and a 7-Shot S&W 686+ performance center smubbie with moon clips. At work I can wear them at a desk, but need a better way to carry the speedloaders/moon clips than in a pocket. Any suggestions for a kydex or similar low profile holder that looks professional? Looking for the brain trust here to throw in some advice.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do. |
I prefer the stiffer type of pouches for carrying speed loaders. I have several of the HKS pouches that are molded (looks kinda like leather). I also have some brands that are nylon fabric. They don't hold their shape very well. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

For off duty use, I used a pouch that split the rounds into 3 behind my belt and three in front. Much less bulk than a conventional pouch. If I can find it, I will send it to you. Drop me a line on my private e-mail if you are interested. It should fit the loaders for your M19 but probably not for the 686. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Sounds like Doc Barranti's Pouch Unfortunately, I have not been able to find something similar or a suitable replacement for Moonclips. DE OPPRESSO LIBER If the enemy is in range, so are you...

For speedloaders, I was also going to recommend the “Barranti Spare” from Barranti Leather; it works quite well. For moonclips, I’ve had success with the “Moon Pouches” from Jeffrey Custom Leather. They don’t split the belt, but they do position the moonclip high and accessible (at least for me). http://jeffreycustomleather.co...uchsAccessories.html Pics of mine below - I usually wear two side by side. Thank you all - lots of great help here. There seem to be less and less revolver experts. So I needed the help!

I believe my Safariland carriers are/were called the Split-Six. Three behind and three in front of the belt.

http://www.andrewsleather.com/traditional.htm Andrews Slim Loader pouches work well for me with HKS and Safariland speed loaders. IDPA legal and secure for actual carry. Mernickle Dual Pocket Speed Loader pouches have also worked well for me in IDPA and Steel Challenge (With 5-Star Speed Loaders for my 8-shot N Frame). I can drop my 8 shot moon clips in them too. https://www.mernickleholsters....der-Pouch-p210950364 I prefer retention style for actual carry. Just saw that Merickle makes one: https://www.mernickleholsters....der-pouch-p210933546 5Star lists three kinds of speed loader carriers: http://www.5starfirearms.com/S...r-Carriers-s/113.htm ____________________
