Left-Handed, NOT Left-Winged! |
I loved the Beretta 92 growing up and seeing it in movies. Right up until I started shooting and picked one up at a gunshop and realized it was too huge for me to grip. I thought I might find a Compact M but they stopped making them and I've only seen one used one at a gun show and it was pretty rough. Fast forward a decade or more and the M9A3 was the first 92 that felt GOOD to grip. I bought a brown one, then got rid of it in favor of a black one when they came out. At the NRA show in 2019 I saw a Langdon Tactical Elite at the Beretta booth and felt the slim VZ LTT grips and thought, now maybe this will work. Just recently traded a Tread Pistol AR to a friend for an LTT Elite. This weekend I dropped the trigger in a bag kit into it with a 12 lb mainspring. The LTT optimized trigger bar shortens overtravel and reset, as good or better than a SIG SRT kit. Ernie really knows his Berettas and it shows.

This is a familiar tale. One cheap M9A1 some how magically multiplied. I think I’ve installed about 5LTT trigger job in a bag kits in my pistols. I think I’m going to install one more, this one being all NP3 coated parts. The LTT elite is indeed a fine pistol. Go ahead punk, make my day |
Yeah, I happened into an older US Made (MD) M9A3 FDE from a friend who really wanted an AR15 when this pandemic kicked off. He had snagged it from someone who needed $$$ for around $750 last year, so that got him a budget build PSA / Burris scope / Mags and some ammo for the Beretta, box, grips and 3 mags. The trigger is very nice actually and I didn't feel the need to put a TJIAB but did convert it to "G" decocker only.

An update on the Brig/Tac or what I like to call, Part II - Let's spend even more money! At the time I bought the Brig/Tac, the 92X Performance had caught my attention. Frame mounted safety and the ability to convert to SAO were the two features I really liked, especially since I've been gravitating towards SAO pistols as of late. The only negative was the weight. Having previously owned a Centennial, I already had an idea of how heavy it would be and wasn't sure if I really wanted to go that route. Of course, this got the wheels turning (good or bad is up for debate...) and I decided that I'd look for another Vertec to send down to AGW for conversion to SAO. I picked up a stainless 92D slide from forum member PGT and figured I'd have the 9x21 barrel, as well as, a .30 Luger barrel fitted to it while AGW would supply all of the detail parts. Now, the only thing that was missing was the Vertec. So, anyone who's reading this probably knows where this went...after debating buying a donor, I said screw it and decided to use the Brig/Tac as the basis for the build. Everything was shipped down to Josh at the end of October, unfortunately, COVID put a halt to the effort and it's currently in the shop with all of the machining complete, just waiting for finish work and reassembly & test. I believe the shop started back up again a couple of weeks ago, so, hopefully, the effort will resume and it'll be back soon. As far as the stock Brig/Tac is concerned, I liked it as is. It came with the action job and the trigger was nice. Soon after I sent it to AGW, the thought crossed my mind about finding another one...This message has been edited.
