Chatter on another forum has Glock releasing a Shield size 9mm pistol that holds 10 rounds, called the 43X. Not a direct competitor to the P365, but another carry option.

A 10-rd G43, if true, would be a competitor to the P365. Why would you say it's not?

Because it's allegedly the size of a Shield, and much larger than a P365.

Glock to Release 10 Round, G43X Pistol

According to dimensions leaked to RECOIL by a third party with ties to Glock’s Austrian headquarters, compared to the dimensions of the G43, the G43X grip is “4mm wider and 15mm longer than a G43” to accommodate its new ten-round magazine.

We took the liberty of doing some Photoshop mock-ups based on the information we had on hand. The forward serrations are just a guess on our part.

From what I've heard, it will not be a single stack like Recoil's photo implies, and it will be larger than 43 which is already larger than 365.
Will have to hold one in hand to understand relative merits vs 43 or 26.

I suspect it will be P365esque & bet it will function flawlessly from the git go Wink

Isn't that about the size of a G26 then?

Soooooo a G26 then. Only without that pesky mag compatibility.

From info that 12131 provided the 43X will be a slim pistol at 4.85 inch in height (assuming "15mm longer than a G43” to accommodate its new ten-round magazine", means height), just a little shorter than the Glock 19. If that is correct Glock will sell a lot of these. Not everyone wants a pistols as small as the P365. The P365 is too small for me. I find my PPS with the 7 round magazine perfect for me and the 43X looks to be very close in size to that though a bit wider in the magazine. If that is the case I am very interested in the 43X. Given the number of states with 10 round magazine capacity, this will be a great alternative to a Glock 19 with 10 round magazine.

Exactly. With all the fancy new subcompact 9mms they've come out with in the last few years, I have yet to find one that does anything that my G26 doesn't already do better. And I've found that any smaller is too small.

Fortunately for SIG and the P365, I’m guessing that Glock will continue to be unwilling, or unable, to design and make a (thinner than polymer) metal mag. The 365 mags, that I have seen, do not appear to be as nicely well-made as MecGar’s - so this really can’t be rocket science.

Love it and would get one. The G26 could be the best all around carry 9mm ever made and I love mine but there IS a difference in the ease of carry between the G43 . The G43 matches the G26 in power, reliability and accuracy . For the loss of a couple rounds you gain a pistol that's thinner if it's in your waist band and can actually be carried in a pocket.
If the 43x lands somewhere in between i for one am eager to see it

Sooo why not just pop in a mag extension on your g43?

Glock heard that I was considering a G43 instead of a P365. Razz

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I'm going to wildly pre-judge before I ever set eye on one.

Well, if it uses the G43 slide, it won't be the same as a G26. I imagine that the magazine design will allow for a longer, slimmer grip than the G26.

I like the idea, and will probably replace my 43 with one.

I would prefer that Glock give the 26 the "S" treatment, like what it did with the 30S. A trimmer, lighter slide and barrel would shave some weight off the gun and still provide the durability of the 26 and retain magazine compatibility with the larger 9mms. Maybe a 43 slide adapted to the 26 frame?

Interesting, but I'll wait till I actually see, handle, and shoot one to decide if I want one or not.

Always good to have choices.

Maybe if this 43X does well in sales, Glock will finally give us a thin 7 or 8+1 single stack 45. That runs reliably. Regards 18DAI
