Hi glad to be here, owned many Sigs but finally started acquiring some Sigs I've wanted a long time. I asked this question on another forum but did not get much beyond some speculation.

I picked up a sig P226 all German with no importer stamp/marking. It is a KE (94') two tone W. German slide (no Exeter, Herndon, Tyson, etc.) Frame has proof marking and matches barrel/slide so it is a full German gun. What instance would cause for no import marking?

Also, how do I determine if the slide is factory finish in silver? It does not appear Nickel but more stainless. Thanks!

Most likely, a European-purchased "bring-back" by a member of US armed forces, or perhaps a purchase by an American commercial airline pilot.

As to the finish, it sounds like an aftermarket refinish. If you could post some pics, it would be most helpful.

A SIG without import marking is not that unusual. I currently own a P210 and a commemorative P226 without import marking.
