On a P365, which sight is easier to remove and/or brand to replace it with?Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()

I recently traded into a like new P365 optic ready pistol but was never a good shot with the combat sight picture. Years ago I replaced the front sight to a #8 and from what I remember, it was a bugger to get off but helped with accuracy/sight picture I prefer. I wound up selling that pistol to a friend who wanted it more than I really needed it and I kind of regretted it. I am looking to replace either the front or rear sight of my new-to-me pistol and I have never owned the optic ready model. I am not sure if it will be better to remove the rear and/or if they even make a #6 rear sight that fits this gun? Also, does anyone know about or have the blacked out Wilson Combat rear sights, as far as if I decide to go this way, which one would be closest to a #6 rear to match the front? I really want to give this pistol another shot and already ordered a few larger mags and a XL grip module due to the original module being too small for me. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It's a lot easier to find a #8 front sight than it is to find a #6 rear sight. I have a few sight installation tools and haven't had much difficulty pushing P365 sights as long as I was patient & careful about setting it up. If you insist on a #6 rear, I think your most feasible options are to find something vintage on ebay or order from Dawson Precision who will guarantee your sights line up how you want them to.

Thanks for the reply. I think your right about just doing the front sight and that is what I ordered. I went with the #8 Night Fision front sight with the orange ring around the tritium, which really draws my eyes to it more so than the green or white. I can't shoot the pistol with the "combat sight picture", as much as I have tried. All of my other guns have a 6 o'clock hold and under duress, I don't want to have to think about how to use the sights/pistol. I understand Sig's rationale but I don't think/hope, I will have to shoot this from greater than 25 yards.

You should be able to tap out the old sights and tap in the new sights pretty easily with a basic gunsmith hammer and steel punch. That’s what I’ve used for all my sight installs from Sig to HK to CZ. Helping you drench the sights you’re removing in CLP and then apply generously in the dovetail before installing the new sights. _______________ If anyone has any factory P239 .357 SIG +1 mag extensions, I need (5) of them.
