Sight adjustment for P230
Hi all,
New to SiG Forum. Recently I bought a lightly used P230. I have not shot it yet, but what is the best sight adjustment tool for this pistol. Researched the MGW sight tools but they don't list the P230 for a sight shoe. I will try calling MGW. Does anyone have experience with adjusting sights on P230?

You haven't shot it yet, but you want to adjust the sights?

Are they visibly off-set? Or do you have an issue with all of your pistols?

Shoot it with a variety of ammunition. If it's off, have someone else shoot it, preferably from a rest in either case. Then consider sight adjustment. None of my four P230/232 pistols required adjustment but it's certainly possible that a sight has moved over the years.

I have owned three 230/232's and none required sight adjusting. Shoot it first to confirm that it needs adjusting

Thanks
Yes, it seems rear sight is visably moved to left and not in centered. I have not shot it yet but hopefully will soon to see if it needs adjustment. If it does, what tool would you use.
Great forum BTW.

I use a brass rod and hammer but that’s just me. I would imagine any of the universal ones on Amazon would work ok.

I'll echo what everybody else has said. Shoot it first. A rear sight being off-center is not automatic cause for alarm. If a centered sight was always on-target, there would be no need for adjustable sights, if you get my "drift." Wink

Thanks for all the input. It's my feeling also to try it out on the range and use different ammo also. I'll post again after a visit to the range.

I just acquired a mint P230 from a member here. It is a fine pistol, and dead nuts accurate with the rear centered, as it came. I would shoot first. You likely don't need any adjustment.
