They're after my Lucky Charms! |
I've decided to buy a FN 502 to replace the Mosquito that has been collecting dust in my safe. And while I'm waiting for the next per diem check to get it, I thought I would look at optics options since this is my first gun with the slide mounted optic. The 502 is listed as coming with plates for the Trijicon RMR, Doctor Optic, Vortex Venom, and Shield RMS. And I'm trying to figure out what optic to get. The Venom looked right since I was looking to spend $200-250 for a range only optic to see if I like it. But I've been hearing a lot of mixed reviews about quality of the product. So I'm now checking out Holosun and Sig's options. And seeing some brands do not want to say a competitors name for what footprint they use is making finding an option harder. Is there a spreadsheet somewhere that lists what optic uses what footprint? Or if you have a 502 (or another gun that uses the listed footprints) what optic did you go with. This message has been edited. Looking some more, and the Holosun HS407C X2 is supposed to fit on the Trijicon RMR plate, but uses the screws from the Venom plate. Anyone use this set up? Lord, your ocean is so very large and my divos are so very f****d-up Dirt Sailors Unite!

I have the Vortex Venom on my 502. It’s a .22 plinker so I am not too worried. If it breaks I send it back for another. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. FWIW, Swampfox sells a small box of screws in various sizes to offer compatibility with a variety of optics. My box has come in handy twice.
