I just picked up a second Shadow 2 and I’m trying to decide if I should keep the buffer or not. I took it out on my first Shadow but shooting side by side, I like the one with the buffer in better as far as recoil feel. Maybe just because it’s new? New one is stock with the buffer in vs one with a CGW reduced power trigger 11# mainspring and no buffer. Shooting both factory Blazer 115gr and my 135gr reloads. Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. Step Up or Stand Aside: Support the Troops ! Expectations are premeditated disappointments.

It is installed on the guide rod with the pistol and they give you extras in the case. It does not effect functioning so, I leave it as is on mine.

I don't run them. I've also changed my mainspring from factory to a 10lb. I run reloads around 135 power factor. No issues. The slide stop is a point of failure on the CZ75 platform, and I suppose the buffers would help prevent premature failure of that.
