NOVAGUYGerman P226 LDCII Stainless N.I.B
Newbie here, but I would humbly ask the braintrust here for some help on a buying decision. Have a P365X for edc, and a P-320AXG classic tuned up a little, but have always had a "thing" for the Sig P226, have opportunity to buy a n.i.b.German made P226 LDC II 9mm, unfired with all original papers, target, etc even the carboard box for factory plastic case.
It looks great, it is pricey but new, I just sold 4 safe queens so I have the dough but it still hurts to spend that kind of dough, on one gun. My thoughts are is it worth it to pay 3 times the cost of a current P226, just not stainless? I think I want to pull the trigger on this deal but is the German made LDC that special? I personally think it's just titsup, but I am crazy? Thanks for anyone's thoughts, I did run this by my wife to see what her thoughts were, all I got was "I trust your judgement" I am a LUCKY MAN!!

12131Only you can decide if it's worth three times the regular P226. So, say, a NIB current P226 sells for what, $900? That means the LDC you're looking at is $2700. Not worth it to me. I've owned several LDCs, both German and US made.

2AdefenderSounds like a good opportunity to own a nice shootin’ SIG. They’re not making them anymore.
One of the new P226 X5s would also scratch that itch. For less money.

sigarmsp226OP - As a new member here I encourage you to use the “Find” box located at the top of the Pistol thread. Type in LDC and you will find several pages of past posts related to the LDC pistol design. Pay close attention to the threads started by member 12131 as this tenured forum member has owned and shot both the American and the German versions and provides honest feedback on the positives and negatives of both.
As for me I was fortunate to purchase the American LDC in White and Black stainless and the German in White stainless and still have all three in my collection (thanks to Q).
Keep in mind that German LDC’s can be purchased on GunBroker, usually, for less that $2k, and many times for around $1500 (I check these listings several times a week).
Good luck on your decision - again the “Find” search box (you will need to be signed in to use this feature) will provide you with a TON of direct thoughts and comments from LDC owners.

jljonesYou have to decide what it’s worth to you. I love the LDC and would make the jump. The weight makes it a good shooter.

sigarmsp226Novaguy - A great feature about the German LDC’s that is not found on the American LDC’s is the ability to add a magazine funnel. The attached thread link provides a beautiful picture of another tenured forum members’s German LDC with his comments and range report.

I agree. For that much coin. You’re better off getting an X5.

Agree also - BUT - Keep in mind that the new US manufactured X5 referenced above is a Single Action pistol whereas the German LDC models are DA/SA.
