I never had them by the boxes but, I've had singles givin to me and have purchased them from on line sellers back when my cartridge collection was taking over my living quarters.. Big Grin. I learned the hobby can become expensive when you get to rare, new or good condition cartridges. I've had white and green fired trounds also.

Saw a outdated auction in which a full box sold for $275.00. Also see singles selling for $40.00 and $50.00 asking price. However, these trounds appear to be fake reloads as the metal disc which houses a primer is missing. Dont believe the trounds were ever loaded in .38 as such.

I thought I recalled hearing (on some video) that even now the ammo is a lot more common than finding one of the guns themselves. (??)

That may well be true, especially via the Internet. I’ve never personally encountered any at Gun shows, LGS, etc.
