I recently purchased a used Gen 4 G22 Glock. It had one backstrap installed, which I removed. There were no other backstaps included with my pistol. Is there a short plastic pin that neds to be inserted into the backstrap retaining hole ? The one included was long. Or is it okay without the pin ? 美しい犬 | ||

You need to have a pin installed, it internally retains the Trigger Mechanism Housing. The long pin is longer to catch the sides of the rear grip adapter, the short pin is standard used without the adapters. | |||

You can use the longer pin intended for use with backstraps but you should know There is a shorter pin available for when No back straps are in use. ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun… | |||

Thanks, guess I will have to contact Glock to get a short pin. I thought from my previos experience with Glocks that pin retained the trigger housing. 美しい犬 | |||

Thanks to all for your help. I ordered a pin and a extended slide release lever. I looked in the original factory box the gun came in, only the fired case examples and manual were in the box.And a FDE/tan colored trigger spring. 美しい犬 | |||

There is a plastic tree that holds the backstraps. The pin would be in a grove on the side of the tree. You didn’t have any additional backstraps come with the pistol so alas, no tree

I really can't complain. After examining the pistol more closely, this pistol was barely shot much. There is no wear at either the hood or end of barrel as in slide wear. This was a LEO trade in. The only wear, is a spot at the lower right side of the . grip, looks like it brushed against a seat belt buckle. It was the only Gen 4 in a group of about 15 G22's. 美しい犬 | |||

In the unlikely event you get no resolution directly from Glock, you can simply file down the longer pin using sandpaper or an emery board, until it's flush with the indentions in the grip when there's no backstrap installed. It's just a plastic rod. Certain aftermarket backstraps come with extra long pins that specifically have to be filed to fit after installation. Or, if you can't get one from Glock and don't want to file yours down, let me know. I most likely have some spare pins rattling around in my parts bin somewhere. | |||
