I could be wrong about this, but wasn't there some controversy with this as it's barely loaded any hotter than 9mm +P?

VANQUISHI remember when Lawman's was blowing out that 357 sig police trade in and I bought 4000 rounds for about $250 / 1000. I wish something like that would happen again.
I have a half dozen or so guns in 357 Sig and it is my favorite so mine won't be going anywhere.

HK AgA buddy of mine has/had a Glock 32C.
That thing is wonderful to shoot.
I would like to have one at some point.
I also wish HK or B&T made the SP5 or APC in 357 Sig.

94hokieGlock33, p2000sk with both barrels, p229 with both barrels and a p239 with both barrels. The p239 in 357 sig is just about perfect for me. I’m a fan of that round and if you look long enough you can still get Fed American eagle or fiocchi for 20 a box. I also have grabbed gold dots at 27 a box of 50 as well. Granted still more than 9, but not horrible.

Blume9mmI finally made it to my gun club today to try out the P226 22lr conversion kit I bought from Para.. the pistol range at my club is outside but has a roof over it.... ran about 30 or 40 rounds through the P226 with the kit... pop pop... then realized I had the MK25 I had a 357 sig slide refinished by CCR in the bag and the magazine with some type of hydro shock rounds also in there....don't know why but I just loaded those in the pistol and threw about 4 rounds down range... the reason I explain all this is after shooting that 22lr in a P226 and then going to 357 sig was one more extreme..... I was resting the pistol on the bench to try and sight in the laser I have on it and the target was at 25 yards... resting the butt of the pistol on the table for some reason it hurt my elbow every time I fired....

TN MarkA sincere thank you to all who replied. I’ve been with the .357Sig since it first came out. At this stage, I’ll maintain my current path. Keeping the three Sigs (P229, P226, P239) that work so beautifully with that round. These days, I shoot mostly .22lr, .45acp, .38Spl and .357Mag. I do have several thousands of .357Sig that will be there when it make sense to use it. Which means as long as I can replace the ammo at or below .50 a round.
My grandkids can figure out what to do with all the .357Sig stuff after I’m gone.

If you really want one, you can either find one of the ones that are out in the world, or make your own, I have not contacted any of the HK gun smiths recently but I am sure the conversion is easy
The MP5/357 is one of my favorite guns
Of the 6 or 8 Forum members that I have taken shooting when they were here in Florida is their favorite as well. Perhaps IronMike57 who has already posted in this thread will comment on shooting the 357SIG MP5 when he was in Florida about 6 years

How about shooting it quietly?
The ammunition is not subsonic, but it is interesting how the sound changes

dbuck47I agree with just keeping it unless you just want the money. You have the.40 barrels, so you can shoot the pistols if you want.
I recently bought my fist .40 ( even though I have been shooting for over 50 years) and promptly ordered a .357 barrel just to have. I have only a shirt ail full of ammo, but probably won’t invest deeply. I will just buy a box or two occasionally.

Blume9mmA while back I upgraded from 9mm to 357 and carry a P239 in that later caliber... practice mostly with the 9mm and was dead set on not adding another caliber to my inventory but several of my P239's and one of my P226's (also have those in both 9 & 357) I have 40 cal barrels for and so I decided to buy a box of 40's last month and see just how powerful that round is.... not to put down the 40... but it ain't no 357 sig....

powermad.357 Sig isn't as cheap as it once was but it's under 50¢ a pop.
Went and checked ammoseek.com and I may grab some more as I'm almost out of blasting ammo.
https://www.freedommunitions.c...g-125-gr-fp-new.htmlI stocked up on Gold Dot's when Target Sports had their monthly $18.00 a box of 50 delivered so I have plenty of that.
I haven't bought any ammo in .40 or .357 Sig in a couple of years.

Austin228I don't think its time to get rid of all 357/40's.
I only have 2 guns in .357SIG a Glock 32 I've owned 20 years and a CPO P226 that came with a .40 barrel but box says it was a 357SIG so I added an OEM .357SIG Barrel.
I do think however its nice to always have the OEM .40 S&W barrel with any 357SIG gun.
My Glock 32 has a Glock 23 (.40) barrel and I added a 9mm conversion barrel too for even cheaper fun.
My SIG P226 in .357SIG I have a SIG P226 .40 barrel.
I'd say for SIGs add a Barsto 9mm Conversion barrel and be on the lookout for cheap .40 and .357SIG.
Only reasons I don't have a Barsto 9mm for my P226 is I have a NIB P226 MK25 slide with barrel/spring I got for cheap and that goes on the P226 .40 frame and makes it a great 9 too)
I've recently been able to get .40 S&W for 16.99/50 (Speer Lawman) and .357SIG for $19.99/50 (Winchester Ranger frangible).
PS Also a reminder that the frames for P226 (not P229 etc) are the same for 9/.357/.40 so you can swap whole slides/barrels out between 9mm and 357/.40 to change between those calibers.

It's expensive, but all good defensive ammo is, and Gold Dot .357 Sig isn't THAT much more than 9mm, especially relative to the advantages of the cartridge. For more affordable range time, get .40cal barrels.
That's my thought as well. Keep it.
It will never be as cheap as 9mm for practice rounds but it is true: for good defensive ammo .357 Sig isn't THAT much more than 9mm... sometimes even the same.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

darthfusterI love 357sig. I reload so ammo cost isn’t a thing. Every gun I have in .40, I have a .357 sig barrel for. I once thought I was done with .40 and sold my sig pro. I regretted it just a few weeks later. I’ve since replaced it.

BKileDefinitely keep it. I regret trading 500 rounds a few months back. That said I think prices for all ammo will decline in next few months.
