Does anyone know if the Glock “NY” trigger that takes it from 5lbs trigger pull to 8-9lbs trigger pull is doable? Was toying with the idea of getting a G42 but the idea of pocket carrying chambered with stock trigger gives me a lot of pause.

Put it into a proper pocket holster that covers the trigger/guard and you will not have a problem. I'm going on 4 years, 60+ hours/week with a stock 42 in a Recluse pocket holster. I recommend the TS or two-sided versions in whatever bottom shape to match the bottom of your pocket. https://recluseholster.com/glock ___________________________ Originally posted by Psychobastard: Well, we "gave them democracy"... not unlike giving a monkey a loaded gun.

It's doable, but like MWC said, just use a proper holster. Mrs. Flash carries a G42 daily and I put in a reduced pull ghost connector for her and she loves it. However, that's not what you asked, so here's a link to a connector that'll give you an 8 pound trigger pull: https://www.glockparts.com/cus...ctor-g-42-43-8lb.htm

A G42 trigger already is considerably heavier than any of its bigger brethren, in my experience. Not weighed on a gauge or anything. In the summer I often carry a G42 in a Blue Force Gear pocket holster and don't feel the trigger is close to sketchy weight from the factory. ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.

I've carried the G43 in a DeSantis pocket holster for several years. I gave my daughter a G42 for Christmas. I have no concerns about pocket carry. The G42 and G43 were never known for great triggers, and Glock came out with the - connector to improve things a bit. I've ended up with ghost pro connectors in my slim glocks, partially for the smoother trigger, partially for the overstop travel. I wouldn't go with a heavier trigger. I also use a "glock gadget" striker control device by Tau Development, as the endplate on the slide, which allows preventing striker or trigger motion when holstering. I don't think there's any way, inside a holster, that the G42 or G43 can be made to fire. Something that should be considered is one's activity; if a pocket large enough to make easy access for the pistol is used, in conjunction with a non-retention pocket holster like the DeSantis Nemisis, then the pistol can slide out if one moves in such a way that gravity isn't holding it in the holster. For some, that may be a concern. It may also be a concern if you're struggling with someone, knocked down, trip, or even sit in a position in which the knees are elevated, allowing the pistol to slip out of the holster. Plan accordingly.

I pocket carry a G42 everyday and have since the gun came out. I use AHolster kydex pocket holster and think its the best pocket holster on the market. My honest opinion is that the trigger does not need modified to be heavier, and if you think it does, than you need more time and training on the gun. It will never go off in a pocket holster. During the draw your trigger finger is properly indexed along the side and there is no danger of accidental discharge. Nothing else goes in the pocket, just the gun and the holster... Maybe carry it for a month or two without a round in the chamber to set your mind at ease... ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

No disrespect, but I think you're putting the cart before the horse on this one. I'd humbly suggest going ahead and getting the gun first and then deciding about modifying it after you've shot it some. Like the rest of us who own 42's and have responded seem to agree, the stock trigger on those pistols is such that if you've got it in properly fitted pocket holster, it's very hard to imagine circumstances where a heavier trigger pull is going to prevent some sort of negligent discharge. Consider whether you're trying to give yourself a case of the "feels good" at the cost of a decent trigger pull. NY trigger in a compact or full frame Glock is perhaps one thing, but in a G42? I can't even imagine trying to shoot something that small with any degree of accuracy with a trigger pull heavier than what it comes with from the factory. In fact, I think the factory trigger pull is too heavy for what it is, and I need to get off my duff and actually do something about smoothing and lightening mine a bit. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Looking at very secure pocket holsters, that Vedder Pocket Locker looks like it would work to keep that trigger covered well. Thanks everyone. I’ll drop worrying about the trigger if you all have made it work.
