Can you convert a new P226 Stainless Elite DA/SA to SAO? I have a P226RX SAO and thought it might be cool to get a P226 Stainless Elite and swap the parts from my P226RX SAO into the stainless steel frame of the P226 Stainless Elite. Then put the P226RX slide onto the heavier, now SAO, frame.

I may very well be mistaken, but I don't think regular DA/SA 226's have the proper holes for the SAO safety (X5 Allround's have them, but they are plugged).

That's kind of what I thought.

Check with Robert Burke. He converted a 220 ME to SAO for me. Reasonable price and fantastic trigger. He will ask for a picture of the grip frame. Good luck.
