Buddy of mine bought his wife this gun. She didn’t like it. Not surprising since the DA pull is a tough old bird. I’m a CZ guy. He offered it for 300 dollars. Did the paperwork at the State Police Barracks and took it shooting. Typical non impressive CZ 3 dot sights and aforementioned trigger.
Finally bit the bullet and bought the Cajun Gun Works Pro package and a FO front sight. I don’t mind the rear sight. It’s aluminum I believe but that hasn’t caused any issues and I just black out the dots. I prefer if it was serrated but can live without.
My CZ gunsmithing has always been through a local guy or CZ Custom. This is my first CGW foray. Any tips, observations, etc.

You should be fine with the CGW stuff. You may have one of the first generation P07s. They later made some improvements to the trigger that resolved most of the issues.

If it has an sharply and continuously curved trigger, it might be. Other clues are a one-piece grip/backstrap and the slide marked "CZ 75 P-07" and, in smaller letters, "DUTY." Mine, a second generation, has a little bit heavy but short and smooth DA.

I'm surprised you dislike the trigger so much. I really liked the trigger in my P-09 and the 7 feels like that to me. I didn't really think the DA was that bad either. I wonder if you just got a rough example.
Well to be honest I have only ever been ok with 2 CZ trigger pulls out of box. The P10C’s have one of the best striker triggers I’ve ever shot. I keep them stock. My SP01 trigger was pretty good out of box. All the rest 75, P01, PCR, they needed some work.
The P07 was serviceable. I will give it that. It was also heavier, stagey, and gritty in DA. Some of that would undoubtedly improve over time but not enough. I like smooth DA pulls. I can tolerate a bit heavy but it’s got to be smooth pulling. I rarely find CZ is that way out of box.

I was similarly unimpressed by my two factory P-09 triggers. CGW PRO kit helps. A ton of dry fire helps. I settled on the 13# hammer spring and it's darned good. You may have trouble with hard primer ammo though.
Their 11.5# spring feels amazing, but I had a light strike so far in about 500 rounds of Fenix Ammo. The round fired on a follow up trigger pull.

I always tend to not go light light on the hammer springs. When I find one I will probably get a Kadet kit for this and 22 hates the light ones. It should get here today.
