Went to the range today with my as yet unfired 320 AXG Classic and the new Beretta 21A. The Beretta ate a hundred rounds of mini-mags with incident, and relative accuracy out to 7 yards. The AXG, however, failed to extract at round 105. I let it cool, then field stripped it. Oddly, the front half of the extractor was missing. The round I pulled out with a pocket knife showed no signs of excessive pressure. I was using Winchester White Box 115gr FMJ ammunition. I packed it all up, went home and cleaned the guns, and notified Sig by email. Should hear back by Monday. Mildly aggravating, but not tragic.

Could have just been a bad casting. The extractor on the P320 is a Made in India MIM part. I've never had one break, but I know a a local county deputy who has. Thankfully they're cheap, easily acquired, and very easy to replace. Hopefully Sig will hook you up with a new one and you won't have to mess around with sending the gun back.

If you're concerned about it happening again at an inopportune time.
Guess I’ll be adding one of those.

Thanks Rogue, I wasn't aware of those...but holy crap are they sure proud of it! I think I can find discontinued folded slide P-Series extractors for less than $65 !

Ahh, MIM. Where would the bean counters in the manufacturing universe be without you?
I've heard and seen the tales of woes over failed MIM parts from customers, shooting friends and even myself, and not just confined to SIGs. The material of infamy not end user of sound mind wants.
