Bingo. Buying magazines, ammo, or accessories for firearms I don't own is a waste of limited resources. It makes no sense.

I bought a P220 magazine out of a pile for $35.

The guy said it wouldn't work because it was stamped 7.65mm on the bottom. Big Grin

And fucks over the people who need them and can't find them.

I do own a few mags for guns that I don't own, and have never owned. However most of those were either given to me or lumped in with some past trade deal; I didn't go out and actively buy any of them. I sometimes would use them (and other gun parts) in return as trade bait for things that I actually need, though I do less of that activity nowadays. At some point they'll probably wind up on GB, Armslist or eBay.

I buy more mags than I probably actually need for the guns I do already own. I've never bought mags for a gun I didn't already own though.

I bought 40 AR 15 magazines that are still in the wrappers around 5 or 6 years ago since I was expecting them to be banned by now. I only paid $8 a piece for them so eventually I can just sell them off at cost. For any defensive handgun, I like to have 10 magazines. For our only for the range, 3 are Loaded for defensive purposes and then rotated every 6 months with another 3 magazines. There is probably a lot of people who do not go through such trouble but it works for me with my logic.

For one gun but I really love, and was a discontinued gun when I bought it, I purchased extra magazines even though the magazines were still readily available by CZ USA. Now I hear of people selling OEM CZ mags for $100 apiece online. The pistol is the CZ 83 and 7.65mm. is a 15 round 32 ACP.
