I have a G23, w/extended G22 mags for EDC.
I am becoming old and arthritic and want to move to a 9mm platform.
Optons:
1. Sell G23, buy G19. Painfully slow and maybe costly.
2. Buy complete G19 slide. G23 ejector an issue?
3. Buy G19 barrel, Replace 9mm extractor, 9mm ejector, and 9mm FCU?

SF opinions?
Thank you all.

Buy a 19, sell the 23.

Glocks are not that expensive. Frankenguns can wind up being expensive.

This. I looked into converting a G22 RTF2 over to 9mm a few years ago and the math just didn't work out.

Thanks to all of you. I may just keep the 23 after I buy the 19.

I've been hanging on to a few Glocks simply because the Gen 3s are worth so little on the used market. For a couple hundred bucks, they are perfectly fine as a spare, a "garage gun" to stash, etc.

I have a FrankenG19 (G19 upper on G23 frame), but only because it was already made, when I bought it. It's a fine gun.

Hundredish bucks for a 40/9 conversion barrel. Mags will probably work, extractor and ejector will probably work. If not sell the barrel and get a $300 trade in G19.

George, if you're not hankering after a Gen 5, or 19x, I'm willing to bet you can find a nice used Gen 3 or Gen 4 for a very reasonable price, likely local. I've been seeing Gen 4's pop up here in the classifieds for prices that are seeing them get snagged in the first post or two. Maybe post a WTB?

Man, I hate seeing a Gen 2 frame worked over. Frown

No slight to you, of course. Just one of those things. Smile

Me I'd slap a G19 slide on it and go. I do this all the time. In terms of money/value it depends on what you find for pricing for the slide versus a full gun.

I have a 19, and a Nickel boron slide assembly in .40. No changes need to be made save the mag to shoot either caliber. Do a search on broker for Glock 19 parts- sometimes parts kits from destroyed guns show up for a steal.

I have several G-23s as well as G-19s. I bought a used 40 to 9 conversion barrel for the G-23, KKM, and installed it. Shoots as good and is accurate. The conversion barrel in a bit heavier than the OEM and doesn't have the flip that the 19 does it seams. I use 19 mags but that's all.

The stippling was my doing (well someone local did it for me). To me, a Glock is a Glock, be it Gen 1 or Gen 10. It has no special significance to me.

Is it a Gen 2? I see three pins. Do the Gen 2s have 3 pins but no rail?

So far that's what I'm doing. A G23 is not worth much these days.

Lone Wolf conversion barrel, 9mm magazines.

Was flawless in my G23 and probably the lowest cost/easiest way to do it.

Another vote for a Lone Wolf conversion barrel. I've been running one for years in my G35. Didn't change anything else though I do us G17 mags.

I did the same thing and have never had a single malfunction but I'm afraid to EDC it because everyone tells me I will have malfunctions.
