Went the range today with my new P365 SAS, first attempt was at 15 ft to sight it in, 20 shots later, I still had not hit the 8" paper pie plate even once, NADA!
Moved it to 25', 20 shots and still no hits. WTF?

So I'm going to disassemble the Meprolight sight and see whats going on, then I'll check the barrel, and then call Sig.

Well, don’t worry about focusing on the front sight. Smile Razz

Sorry to hear that. I handled the 365 SAS before I bought mine and thought that the sights might be a problem for me.

I would try the gun at 7 to 10 feet first to get a feel for the way it is sighted and then walk it back. Don’t forget the 365 is a defensive weapon intended for close quarters. In the end, I bought the original and I’m glad I did.

I just picked up a new P365. I lusted after the SAS for several weeks. In fact, I didn’t even know the P365 existed before I saw the SAS. The more I handled the SAS the more I questioned the sight. Standard sights have worked well for me for many years and I haven’t had snag issues with them. In the end I went with a standard configuration because I got such a good deal that I could buy the SAS slide from SIG and still be well less than $500 into the gun total but I think I’ll be happy with the standard sights.

It is my understanding that the sights on some of the SAS pistols were shipped out the factory with the sights out of alignment. Watch the video concerning the SAS on the Military Arms Channel on youTube. You may have to send it back to the mothership for correction.

Count me in as one who also prefers standard night sights. I am extremely pleased with my plain Jane P365.

I see no benefit to reinventing the wheel as far as sights go.

I'd try shooting it at 4 or 7 to get on the target and remove unfamiliarity or error. If you aren't on there I'd have another shooter try. After that if you can't hit it send it back to Sig.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to the range on Sunday to try shooting a 2' by 3' qual target, first from 3 feet , and then keep moving it out until the issue reoccurs. I want to have reasonable accuracy out to 30 feet, at least.

I’ve never understood sights that are useless beyond hand shake distance. Never handled an SAS 365 so can you swap out those sights for regular if you find you don’t like them?

No, there is no standard dovetail for front/rear sights.

Reinventing the wheel...like the rmr? The mepro works like the red dot. Pull it up. See the dot. Pull the trigger.
