Picked up today. 650. No extractor issues. Put 100rds of 115 fmj through it. Zero hangups. Accuracy was very good at 12yds. 12oclock hold on sights, seemed right on for windage. Trigger was clean and crisp. Not much of a re-set. The left side of the frame was digging in my web after the 100rds. Needs the edge broken. Maybe a gold bead front sight and ambi safety. Fits all my hi-power holsters.

Nice, glad to hear it's working for you! When those first came out I wanted one bad. Had the money, but couldn't find one. As time passed, I got into other projects and when they finally started showing up locally I'd spent the money on other stuff and had other priorities. I don't really have any practical use for the gun, but every time I pick one up it makes me want to buy one!

This is good to hear. I was getting the sense that SA had ironed-out the extractor or other issues that had cropped-up early-on; sounds like they indeed have. Please keep us posted as you log more range-time. "The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli." - George Costanza

Not sure if anyone has tried this? Instead of breaking the frame edges and requiring refinish, bot LOK and VZ say their hi-power grips are wider than stock grips. Maybe wider will position my web away from the edges?

Unapologetic Old School Curmudgeon |
I really wanted one of these but could find one for a long time and they were almost $900 when I did find one. Eventually gave up and got a Girsan. I still want one of the Springfields though Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

I swear I had something for this |
I finally found one at my local FFL for $679. I do like the ledge safety being more like a 1911 than a Hi Power, and the trigger has been improved a great deal. Springfield did not pull a Girsan by just yanking the mag disconnecter and calling it an "improved trigger." I'm still going to wait for a Loaded or a TRP version on the SA-35 unless they come out with a Detective-like model.

The downside of eliminating the mag-disconnector.

3° that never cooled |
VictorLouis, You are correct. Fortunately the SA-35 uses the older, heavier 2 coil type trigger spring, instead of the lighter 3 coil type FN started using at some point. If SA had chosen to use the very light 3 coil type in the absence of the magazine disconnect and spring, trigger reset would have been even less distinct. I have examples of both type springs. The 3 coil type is only .030" diameter, the older 2 coil type .037". The old 2 coil type restores some trigger reset authority when the trigger disconnect has been removed. Good thing, IMHO, that SA decided to use the heavier 2 coil type in their SA-35.. BTW, After a thousand plus rounds, another happy SA-35 owner here. NRA Life
