P245manP220 Current Production Quality
I’m looking for a metal DA/SA pistol for carry, and am considering a Sig P220 Elite. Comes with E2 grips, short reset trigger and night sights. I’d appreciate any feedback on Sig’s current production of their classic P series pistols, especially since quality control has been a concern.

YooperSigsI have a 220 Stainless Elite. About 3 years old now and maybe 500 rounds through it. Shoots great. When I first bought it the magazine release button was stiff. It has since eased up. No other issues.

patwQuality for the metal framed guns has always been good, well at least for me. I never had a problem with them but occasionally, every manufacturer has an issue here and there.

P245manThanks for your responses. The model I am looking at has an alloy frame and a beavertail. I haven’t handled a Sig with a beavertail, just the standard nitron models.

The current Elite series has the Legion frame, and there is nothing wrong with current production classic P-series SIGs.

Bigjoe001I purchased a P220 elite, model 220R-45-BSE, a few months ago and have a number of rounds through it with no issues. I did replace the grip with Hogue G10 checkered, otherwise it is stock. It's as accurate as the other P220's I own and just as reliable.
