it has current type grips on it.. it should have came with WG grips correct?

It has factory mecgars. Did they switch them or should it have german magazines? not sure since it was made after mag restrictions.

No sticker on the box means no way to verify factory two tone correct?

what do you think this gun is worth in fair condition?

1997 P226 should originally came with the newer style grips with the Sig Sauer logo on the panels. Mags should be 10-rd German dovetailed back, not Mec-gar.

Yes, not the old checkered non-logo grips. 1997 is the year they changed grip style.

did they still do test targets in 97?

As long as it was a German made and proofed gun, yes. US assembled gun, no.
