I've been using these snap cap dummy rounds for some time now, and I'm convinced they are the best available for standard pistol calibers:

They're better because they're not lightweight aluminum which can get pretty beat up over time, and weighted like real ammo, and are visually obvious that they are dummy ammunition vs live ammo.

I use them for dry fire and function testing on the bench, since I never allow any live ammo on my bench for obvious reasons.

They're not expensive, git you some in 9 or 45, you'll like them. I have them in 380, 9, 45, 38, 20 and 12 Gauge, they're great.

I have some of these. They are very nice and work well. They also have lasted longer than the aluminum or plastic ones.

Yea, they're more durable than aluminum ones, use real brass cases, and the bullets are weighted so the inertia of the cartridge mimics the real thing for testing feeding and ejection with semi-autos on the bench. I wish they made some in 357 to practice reloads in magnum revolvers, since the angle of entry of speed loaders may be different for 38s depending on stocks clearance.
