Good god, moonlighting at my friend's gun shop is putting one hell of a dent in my fun money this year... While taking a break from working on customer's guns I walk out to the front and see a customer bring in a couple of pistols to sell to us, my friend asks me to look them over. There was a Glock 23, clean and well kept, then I see a brown Sig hard case... In it an almost pristine KE(1994) P226, manual, and test target. The only thing I could find wrong with it was that the 2 OEM mags were not with it, only Ram Line (CRAP) mags.

So -

$460 later, I own the P226..

Looks really nice........great condition...... I wouldn't toss the mags that came with it, try them at the range and keep them for range duty only if they work.....mecgar mags are rock solid and make a lot of the SIG mags.

That classic beauty deserves the original German mags, not Ram-Line shit. Do yourself a favor and use them as doorstops, then shoot me am email with your shipping address, and I'll get 2 full capacity German mags out to you.

Yes she does! Haven't started the hunt for them yet, but have ordered some Mec-Gars for the meantime. As for the Ram Lines - they will meet their doom as targets for my 45-70!

Email sent!

Man, that's a damn good deal, and it's in excellent shape, too! Congrats and enjoy. A clean W. German P226 is on my "someday" list.

A big thanks to 12131!!! She will now have 2 original mags to go with her. As far as the Ram lines, after testing them, they are already showing what i had seen decades ago when they first came out. Interesting concept, bad idea as far as the spring. Both are binding the follower at about the 11 rd mark. So, both will become subjects to high velocity carnage as I cannot trust them.

Besides, what could possibly be wrong with demolishing something with a 45-70? Hehehehe

Real nice. I love me them older Sig's. I've got a pristine Interarms import 226, 2 West German 220's, and an early 228 in my safe.

Are the base plates on the Ramlines compatible w/ OEM mags? If so, '9mmman' just bought a mag that could use a base plate.

Nice score, I have a WG p226 I picked up in 1988. Couldn’t help but notice your tag and location, RB211 and Atlanta. You wouldn’t happen to have been a Delta L1011 guy?

Damn good guess!! LOL! My uncle was a flight instructor on the L1011 with Delta years ago - first heavy he taught me how to fly.

I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out how dubage inferred all that from your user!

Anyway, great find and price. I still have & use the dove tail OEM mags for my JJ model. But she more frequently wears the 17-rd Mec-Gars.
