Baby Brownings, opinions?
Looks like a late 60’s build date. Original paperwork, original Browning gun rug. I think it spent more time in a drawer than carried. They have always intrigued me

I know the limitations with the caliber but as a pocket gun it’s light and easy to carry and conceal.

So truthfully, did I make a bad decision?

When you own enough guns, idle is what many of them will be. You wanted it, you bought it, you have the pleasure of possessing it.

be aware the grips hold some parts in position

also not safe to carry with a loaded chamber

fun to shoot, super tiny. i could hide mine in a cigarette pack

Cool gun, enjoy. For a tiny carry piece, the Seecamp or NAA Guardian 32 is a better choice and you don't run the risk of having a "classic" seized in an incident. But yeah, I'd buy a good condition BB if I ran across one.

Those little things are works of art when you think about the amount of time and attention to detail that went into their design and manufacture. Everything hand fitted I'm sure. It's truly amazing how well they function.

I picked this little gem up about 7 or 8 years ago, still haven't fired it. The old FN's are just so damn sexy!

Nice!

I was able to find a BB clone that was stainless in .25 Auto.

These are really neat.

These people make a licensed modern copy. Here: https://www.precisionsmallarms.com/

From what I've read, the Baby magazine tubes are not heat treated, and because of that they have a finite lifespan.
PSA has Mec-Gar manufacture new magazines for them, and PSA sells them with many finish options. Also the PSA/Mec-Gar magazines have a modern/improved magazine follower.

PSA will also refurbish genuine Browning/FN pistols.

I have a original Baby Browning in my safe and I do shoot it occasionally.
For actual carry with a micro pistol, I prefer my Seecamp.

I inherited one and had it for probably fifteen years until a few weeks ago when I traded it in on something else. I used to pocket carry mine on occasion until I learned they’re not drop safe. Interesting to shoot, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy .25 ammo just to shoot a tiny pistol. It lived in the bottom back of my safe under a shelf so long I forgot I had it. It didn’t survive the recent paradigm shift where if I’m not shooting it and not enamored with it, it goes.

I think if you want one and like them, that’s enough reason to own one. It’s an interesting gun from a period of time where such things made sense. Not all of this has to be practical, it’s ok to buy stuff we like just because we like it.

I have the Bauer clone in stainless. It's a fun range toy and I enjoy it. I love the Baby Browning but, if I was to carry a 25 acp (and I have in the past) The Beretta 950 JetFire or the slightly larger Bobcat are a much better choice. I personally can't bring myself to trust an old striker fire pocket pistol enough to carry with a round in the chamber.

You learn something new every day, I wasn’t aware that they are not considered drop safe.

No matter, it’s still coming home with me.
