A local gunshop has a P220 sport for sale. It looks like everything comes with it. Compensator with front iron sight, scope mount with some type of red dot and test target. My queston is about the box. It is a smaller black plastic sig box with no label. Does anyone have a pic of the correct box they can post? The cut outs in the box fit the longer slide settup on the sport. Thanks

Unfortunately several members have failed to maintain their pic links so this suggestion might be hit or miss...but if you haven't already done so you might check the long running SIG box thread. If it turns out that you buy the gun and it has the original box you might consider posting pics of it. Also, there is a member selling a 220 Sport in the Classifieds. You might check with them for a pic.

I do not know what you consider a "smaller black plastic sig box" My P220 Sport came in a black version of the same box that is blue for standard models and red for CPOs However, if the glued in foam is properly cut for the firearm, I would have to bet it is the correct box. ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . Thanks for the info. The pistol i am looking at looks to be complete with all accs. There is no label or serial number on the sig box it comes with. The cutout in the foam fits the longer slide of the sport perfectly. There is no cardboard sleeve. In doing a google search for P220 Sport box one of the first images matches.

P220 Sport pistols did not come with scope mounts, those were accessories. There should not be a cutout for it The open box shown in your link is a MasterShop box and would be correct for some of the P220 Sport pistols that shipped over the years. The lack of labels on your plastic box (though anyone could remove them) would support a MasterShop box. As you started to infer, the MasterShop box pistols came in a outer cardboard pizza style box with the labels on it instead. However, you have left off the most important piece of information. . . . How much is he asking? If he wants $500 who cares what box it is in, if he wants $2000 then that becomes more important ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . And there you have it. It is in very good condition and i have bought several very nice sigs from him in the past. The last i bought from him was a 1989 P228 in box for 750$. He is asking 2000$ for it. We are still haggiling on the price. There is a scope in the mount that looks period correct for when the pistol was new. I would rate the pistol at about 90-95%. Needs a good cleaning.

$2000? $1500 top, to me, if I were searching for one. Q

I believe these went for around $1350 when new. The scope mounts are hard to come by, next to impossible if it's the SIG mount and correct for the run. If you also get the scope and it's decent, then you have a gem there. It is used, but the P220 Sports are getting rarer than hen's teeth and people are jacking up the prices outrageously. Personally, I would consider $1300 to $1500 for one in really good shape, although used, to be reasonable in the current market. With the scope and mount, that adds to the value assuming they are correct for the gun, the mount mostly. In the end though, it just depends on how badly you want it. Personally, I would not pay $2000 for one, nice as they are.

1500$ is going to be my top price. I do not know if he is going to come down on the price much more. The scope adds value so i will stay on him. Thanks for all the info.
