I got a Sharps grip and took the fcu out of my polymer stock grip and put it in the sharps. After installing it the slide gets stuck towards the back of the fcu. I watch some videos that suggest the bar that locks under the slide lock and runs all the way back falls out and needs to be correctly installed while holding the internal hammer down then placing the heel of the bar into correct position. I did this and still the slide does not go past the internal hammer even when it looks like there is clearance now. I got frustrated and put the fcu back into my stock grip and it is the same result. Anyone experience this or have any input on something I should be doing to properly install it? If not its a trip to gray guns but the action service and shipping would put me over 350 and its starting to add up for a gun that I just want to shoot well and not really invest money into. I appreciate any input. First In Last Out

I did follow that video and it didn't fix the problem. I get the same result with the stock frame so sharps isn't the proble. First In Last Out

Can you take a pic with the slide where it gets stuck to help us understand the problem? Is it a manual safety? Make sure that’s off and the mag is out and the slide release isn’t up. Also, if you look inside, on the right side, just inside of the slide rail, just behind the mag well, there is a little lever that can rotate up. Push that down with your finger before you put the slide on.

Did the slide stop come loose when you were swapping the FCU?

I got tied up with holiday stuff and just now got around to fixing the problem. I watched all the video's and still couldn't get the slide to fit properly. I gave up and took it to a local gunshop which happened to have their gunsmith on duty. He asked me if the bar came off and the rear pin that holds some stuff in place. I told him just the bar but that I also dryfired it trying to figure it out. He chuckled and told me no worries. He came back 10 minutes later and handed me the assembled gun. I went and put 50 rounds through it to make sure it functioned like I'm used to. The gas petal is a huge difference. I was putting my off hand thumb on my weapon light but it was causing me to stretch, now my off hand grip fits perfect. Also the weight, only 4 oz has a different feel in terms of heft, and the best part is the grip is atleast 1.5 times thicker if not more, which I suspect is making the most difference for me. I will need more practice but I am looking forward to better control of the gun now. I lost a lot of sleep over this one. It's my prefered edc and I've been walking around with a vp9sk that I can't even truly see the sites on with my poor vision. Anyway it only cost me 30 bucks which is 270 less then what it would have cost me to send it to grayguns, all be it there was no action job obviously, but I was going to send it in for an action job as an excuse to have them fit the fcu into the frame, so I made out ok. Also a quick thanks to Captainbarred for hooking me up with a pretty good deal. First In Last Out
