Hello all,

Recently I've seen a Sig P229R (CPO) online that has the serial number placed on the left side of the frame. On the right side, the serial number exist in its typical area. Based on the pics and description, its a German frame Sig.

I've never seen the serial on the left side before and I thought I'd ask the members.

There have been a lot of CPO SIGs with serial number on the left side of the frame, in addition to the typical right side. Nothing particularly special.

In a few examples I have seen the serial on the right side was very faint and it appeared perhaps the serial on the left side may have been for the purpose of having a more legible serial on the frame.

Not really sure what other reason for the addition on the left side.
