I am happy with my original style 320 VTAC, but a little miffed that the new model has an optics cut. Because the original style can't be cut to accept optics, I'm interested in a replacement slide.

Has anyone gotten one of the newer "pro cut" slides SIG is offering? They're a bit excessive on the cuts, especially that nonsense around the muzzle, but, whatever, they have the optics cut I'm looking for and are already complete, sans barrel.

Do they work well? Any issues?

I picked up a compact pro cut slide about 2 months ago. It was one of the unfinished slides. It seems to be good quality but I was not a fan of the unfinished look. They are now coming already with a FDE or nitron finish. Mine is off getting a TiN finish now.

I like that they come with XRay sights and are cut for a R1 pro or DP pro. Plus you get to keep iron sights. The only down side is it is a little flashy but for a range fun gun I am good with the slide cuts.

A guy at my local range has been running one hard for as long as they have been out. Maybe 9 months or so? He loves it, and told me it was reliable. The only thing he doesn’t love it that he assumed it was lighter than the stock slide, but it is the same weight. His fault, as Sig does say it is not lightened.

Other than making holes that can allow stuff into the innards that doesn’t belong there, my question about aftermarket lightening of pistol slides has always been how the lighter weight affects reliability and durability of the gun. SIG pistol slides are clearly designed and manufactured with their weights in mind, and I’m actually impressed that the “pro cut” slides are not lightened.

I got one. Found a blemish DPP and have used it at matches a bunch.

I find it too flashy for my tastes but it runs as well as my other factory slides. The X Rays are nice but kind of useless since I use it as a red dot gun. Still nice.

Only complaint is I wish they had a RMR cut version.
