Anybody have any experience with new production model 17 (-9, i think?)? Found a decent priced new one that should be about $800 all in. Don't own any blued revolvers that aren't SAA clones, so ita kinda pulling at me from there. I do have a 617 4" that is a pleasure to shoot and balances well for me with the shorter barrel. I don't NEED another 22 revolvers, but I don't NOT need one either.
It's wearing the old skinny grips. Never handled a pair, so that may be something else to replace.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

I don’t know about the new ones, but the firearms instructor at my PD had one and its was slick. We ran thru a box one day during day and night shoots. GiB didn’t let anyone else shoot it but me and I was thankful.

I once recovered a stolen K22 at a murder scene. I was kneeling down reading off the serial numbers to 911 and she said “it’s stolen,I sent the info to your car” and she was dejected. I had taught the dispatcher how to shoot and she had gotten into guns and shooting because of that. My captain walked out back and said, I know you didn’t just pick that gun up and read the numbers. And I told him, I might be an idiot but I wouldn’t fuck with evidence Mark (intentionally calling him by his first name), the number is on the bottom of the frame as well as in the crane area. The shooter had dumped the entire cylinder into the victim at point blank range, and he didn’t make it. The worst part was calling the guy who’s gun it was and telling him we found his gun-but he couldn’t have it back until the case went to court.
