Yaaaay!! Just picked up my new toy from layaway at my local dealer. Gen 2 P239 SAS .40 da/sa new in box, night sights and never fired except at the factory. Still had the blue tape on the grip. Label shows it was made Sept. 2008. I missed my old 239 that I sold so this one will not be going anywhere and will be my ccw. Can't wait to go break it in! I'd post pictures but I don't use a hosting site right now.

A lot of people stored away their NIB guns for even decades and never shot them. We should thank them for keeping them guns pristine for us eventual next owners.

This one came out of an estate collection and the original owner had a few more new 239s in 9mm still in their cases as well. It's definitely great some folks kept them pristine for others to enjoy later on.

My guns are generally in extremely good condition and extremely well cared for and by virtue of having more then my fair share generally see lower round counts.

All that said if you ever get ANY of my guns you can be damn sure they have been shot and are not NIB. Every one gets shot at some time or another. Smile

That is an awesome pistol. The P229/P239 in .40 are matches made in heaven.

Ever since I first put it on layaway, I started looking around for barrels and all the sig 9 and 357 are nowhere to be found. The only 357 barrel out there that I've found is from Bar-Sto but I need to recoup some finances before ordering from them.
I'm going to try and make it out this afternoon to see how it shoots.

I'm not sure a 9mm barrel will work with out both a different recoil spring and slide.... the slide on a P239 in 40/357 is slightly bigger and heaver than the 9mm..

I've never shot 40 cal in anything but I am now 'into' 357 sig and it is a serious round to shoot in a p239.

I now have three p239's a sa/da in 9mm and two DAKs in 357.... what I'm looking for is a deal on another sa/da 9mm and then I will trade out the trigger mechs. with one of the DAK 357's and have both of each.... much rather practice with the 9mm. Cheaper and easier on the hands....

There are folks here who have confirmed they have converted to 9mm just with a barrel swap. (Same mags, same slide, same recoil spring)

Some have used a different recoil spring. Some different mags as well.

I cannot speak personally to any of it only bringing this ups since it has come up several times over the years.

you need to host it somewhere like imgur.com, then copy the link on imgur and past it here using the photo icon on the tool bar you see when you create a post, just paste the link to the hosted image.

You can't upload an image from your PC/Phone here

I have three barrels for my P239 and P229

To change from 40 to 357 it is a simple barrel swap.

To change to a 9mm you need a conversion barrel.

They may just drop in, mine needed to be tweaked by a gunsmith.

Mine are Bar-sto conversion barrels.
