German STP handguns are awesome... Login/Join

These STP (Sport Target Pistol) guns are awesome. This is the second one I bought in the past month or two. 100% German except and magazines and sights, no MIM, nothing cast, just amazing quality. Steel frame and slide, aluminum grip, 49oz empty. Finish is DLC and CrN, so top notch all around.

The ROSA is a 6” 2011. This one is 9mm, but they can be built in a variety of calibers. They just started being imported a couple months ago. Figured to post them here, due to their German nationality.

I highly recommend one to someone interested in a high end 1911 or 2011 that wants something off the beaten path.

Here it is with my 6” Target Master 1911, which is an incredible shooter. I have not yet shot the ROSA, but I'm expecting more of the same.

Nifty! Thanks for the post and photos.

What’s the purpose of the screw (rivet?) at the top front of the trigger guard of the ROSA?

Re: “Figured to post them here, due to their German nationality.“
Continue posting Italian pistols too!

You’re welcome, sir

As for the screw, that’s standard 2011 spec. As does the one on the upper part of the grip, it’s attaching the grip to the frame. The 2011 design is three pieces…slide, frame, and grip.

So you didn't post them elsewhere? Or did you come up with a reason for each forum that I've seen (or will see these photos)?

Maybe I am wrong, and I will certainly take the lose if Para or someone points out there error of my ways, but man if your posts come off a little braggadocios and greatly disconnected.

Beautiful firearms, but always a disconnect with your posts... I cant explain it. Great firearms, man. I don't know what else to say.

“braggadocios”? The man just stated a few facts about these very uncommon pistols.

“greatly disconnected“? I have no idea what that means. Maybe you could explain.

There's seven thousand dollars worth of a pair of pistols in this thread and you have no idea what he's talking about. Who is disconnected here?

So maybe you can explain why posting good photos and a few comments about uncommon pistols in a firearms forum is “greatly disconnected”.

I’m looking forward to that explanation.

Pipesmoker,

I won’t have Smudge defend me here, though I’m sure he would. Again, I don’t have a great defense for why I feel that way, instead it’s just a feeling I have. I’ve expressed it in bac’s posts before. I never seen much from him except, “hey look what I bought lately”. There are many well off forum members, many, but no others constantly make posts purely displaying this fact.

I’m sorry you took offense, and again, maybe I’m simply wrong, but the posts are akin to new members just posting in the classifieds to me, it goes against the heart of this forum.

And if you ask me to further explain I’ll have to concede that I can’t, it’s very subjective.

Well, being there’s a huge disconnect, it’s likely better that you don’t say anything, frankly.

To answer your question, I have a couple forums and especially one that I post everything in. Others I’ll do for specific reasons. I’ve probably bought 15-20 handguns since I’ve posted a purchase here, including the TM in this thread. It’s been a while.

I personally enjoy seeing bac’s latest grail pistols and excellent pics. Lots of them I didn’t even know existed. No, I can’t afford any of them, but I like seeing them and learning a bit about them. I hold no ill will toward those with enough disposable income to buy lots of nice things. If they take the time to share their impressions with others who may be interested, so much the better.

It’s actually just over $8K, but they are a value for what you get. Buy a high end American 1911 and 2011 and you’ll be paying more. My point is I’m trying to spread the word about these very nice newcomers to the states, as the guinea pig so to speak. I don’t expect them to appeal to everyone.

There’s always going to be people taking offense to other people’s nice guns, but I’m good with that. Like I said, they aren’t supposed to appeal to everyone, nor does STP build enough to satisfy everyone. It’s a niche market.

Otto, I didn’t mean it like that. I think you are a well rounded member and you most certainly put more effort into the forum than I do.

I do visit many forums from time to time and this is one of them. I think it’s a great forum, but I do more reading than posting. I’m a bit habitual and do 90% of my online posting on the gun forum I basically started on. Not cause it’s any better, but I’m just a creature of habit.

I’ll make an effort to post more content here aside from new purchases. Honestly though, it’s been a while since I posted a new acquisition.

…so hopefully you’ll reconsider your stance.

Yeah really just trying to get the word out a bit on these pistols. I think they are a wonderful value, despite being expensive. I’m also using the pics to try to illustrate the quality. I’m no professional photographer, but I don’t have to be to make these guns look good. STP does that themselves.

The TM $3500

The ROSA $4600

Honestly, they are a value even at those prices. My dealer who sells a lot of high end handguns was very impressed and guessed the cost to be higher than that.

The target master reminds me of the p210.

They definitely have that sleek german style.

Beautiful guns.

Yes sir and when I bought it, I took a picture of it next to a 6” P210 ST. Same style.

Absolutely. There is no reason to be negative about what others post. I appreciate seeing guns that I have never heard of or would normally see anywhere else.

It's just like when people show their new expensive watch. I might not be able to afford it but it doesn't mean I am not happy for them or don't appreciate the cool pictures that are posted. Keep 'em coming.
