The only firearm I regret parting with over the past 30 years and scores of trades is the P220.

I finally hit reset and bought these.....and couldn't be happier!

Yep, and I love how the all steel construction tames it down. The wood grips are packed away, though, replaced by Hogue aluminum checkered. My other P220 is also an Elite, in 10mm.

I had one with a German frame that I sent to Robert Burke for conversion to SAO along with a trigger job.

I'd agree with henryaz in that being all stainless made for it being quite mild. It always seemed to catch at least one person's attention anytime I took it to the range.

I had to replace the grips too. They got very slippery with sweaty hands. I put Hogue G10 grips on mine.

Hogue makes these. Cheaper if you don't mind not having the Sig logo. The grips from an Elite Dark made it to my 10mm before a single round.

UPDATE:

I picked up the Stainless Elite P220....
Just got back from the Range....
I put a couple hundred rounds of Federal & SIG 230 grain hardball; as well as Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shok and Hornady 200 grain XTP through it.
No problems at all....and really a soft shooter.
I love my 1911's, but could understand someone owning only this gun.....it might be that good.

Actually...isn't the pictured gun a good ol' 220 ST? Appears to be one of the newer production guns. Not trying to take anything away from an Elite...but are me eyes deceiving me?
