Anyone tried the EGW sight mount for P210A? Thinking of trying it with my P210A standard & a Vortex Venom I have. Seems fairly straight forward & I had one on Colt/Walther 1911 .22 that worked well. Chance to try a red dot without having the slide milled.

If you're eyes are getting old, a dot sight is the way to go.
I certainly wouldn't mill something as nice as a 210

Be somewhat akin to - in the 1990’s - drilling a hole in your new 911’s roof to mount the satellite antenna for the new satellite radio tuner, that you’re plugging into the cigarette lighter and mounting using one of those silly air vent brackets.

I recently bought an RX slide assembly for my 226. Though I’ve yet to try it at the range, I’ve enjoyed some brief dry fire without the need for reading glasses. But, it does ugly up a nice gun. The price we pay during the evolution of newish tech.

Old eyes or young eyes, red dot is the way to go. What can be easier than putting the dot on the target and pulling the trigger. POA = POI!
No more lining up the front post between the rear sight, is it just the right height? is it too far left or right? none of that. No more wondering how a particular guns iron sights are aligned, combat hold, 6 0'clock hold, none of that. I laugh when I hear folks say it's for old eyes. Sure it helps them but also helps those with 20/20 eyesight as well.

Also want to add EGW and Armory Craft make dovetailed mounted plates for red dot installation. Can try Springer Precision as well. No need to mill the slide. I have the EGW plates on three different 1911s and love them.

Are the rear dovetails the same on the 210a target & standard? Emailed EGW & they pointed me to a mount that fits the Sig 220 + quite a few other sig pistols, not the mount for the target dovetail.
Thanks.

I had two P210As, and mounted Vortex Venoms on both using Armory Crafts P210A red dot mount. Sold one of them, and the red dot mount was easily removed and the original sight reinstalled. I can recommend the AC mount, and shooting with the Vortex Venom is great!

@jonholl: No they are not the same. The rear sight on the target does not use a dovetail mount.

Can anyone verify that the P210 A Standard rear dovetail is the same as the 220 - 229?
Thanks.
