OK the frame was blown out and the hammer was beat to crap. So I had Marzy pick me up a frame from Deercreek and fit it to my barrel. I bought a Pietta hammer and contoured the frame to the hammer and fit the hand to the hammer. Then I had to time the existing bolt to the hammer. I dropped all the metal into a vinegar bath to put it back in the white. I will age the parts later. The grip and trigger frames needed a bit of fitting also. Looks awesome! Has the current gun rush impacted parts availability for this project? I'd imagine the masses are buying up other things and not looking in this direction making it a good time for such a project.

Sweet! When I had to fix up an old revolver, it was really neat to figure out how everything timed itself to work smoothly, Then I had to make my own cylinder hand... yeah, um, it was really neat to... Looks like a fun project in the making.

Prices for parts have more than doubled. FUCK the hoarders. Fuck them all. If you buy shit just to rape me, FUCK YOU. There, that's really how we all feel, sans the shitbags that have loads of money and don't feel it. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

I'm sure you're aware but no cartridge conversion mfg will approve/recommend the use of their products in a brass-framed revolver. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

Yessssss. That's nitro powder. I will load black powder in the cases. I will turn my own cylinder and make my own ring too. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

That looks badass! You've got a lot of talent for gunsmithing from watching your videos. Me, I had my 1858 order bumped back to ~6/21. Got my Kirst Konverter and figuratively bit the bullet and got three boxes of standard-pressure Buffalo Bore (don't ask what it costs lol). The lady at Kirst told me I got the last conversion cylinder for a while. They have no more, and are scrambling to make more. They said there's a list of 80 waiting on the stainless cylinders, and said between those and the blued cylinder production, people could be waiting as much as six months, what with being shorthanded. Not going to buy any BP kit until I can mic the bore and cylinders, as suggested.

I may build another entire gun to be C&B only. I found another barrel and know where another brass frame is. These things aren't like modern guns where parts just slip together. When I ger my cylinder turned and a ring made, I'll send the barrel off to be lined for .357 He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

I don't know if it´s of your interest but the proof marks (Star over PN, Gardone Italy) on the RH side is only good for black powder charges and not ment for nitro powder charges. PN = pulvere nera = black powder. Stay safe.

Yes, I know to load BP only. In fact the original converted cast steel guns were black powder loads only. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

OK I found an awesome pendant to use as a concho for my holster I found. It's a flying raven. I' photoshopped it onto the photo to see how it will look after it gets here and I attach it! Oh and check out the AWESOME grips I found for it too! He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Years ago when I did my '51 Navy conversion, I found a bullet mold for hollow base .357 pointed 150 grain bullets. It's a slow process but worked well in cut down .38 Special brass. At the time, .38 Long Colt brass was very hard to find and full length Specials wouldn't fit the cylinder. That gun shot a number of cowboy matches over the years. -------------------------------------------- You can't have no idea how little I care.

I'm still toying with turning a cylinder and having the barrel lined. I'm gonna shoot BP in it tomorrow. I'll try to get video. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Is that a Colt replica cylinder with the rollmark? My '51 conversion was based on a less than stellar Armi San Marco model. The cylinder was fairly easy to turn. I rebated the cartridge rims, in retrospect it turned out to be a nuisance as it made getting checked at the loading table cumbersome. Good luck with it tomorrow. -------------------------------------------- You can't have no idea how little I care.
