I switched my primary carry from a Glock 43 to the Sig P365...I need to ankle carry in work, and for the G43 always used a Galco Ankle Lite which was extremely comfortable (expensive but worth it, I believe, cuz at times I forgot that it was even there. That's a really good indicator that a holster, ankle or anywhere, is comfortable when you forget it's there)... But the problem is Galco does not make the Ankle Lite for the Sig p365....They make it for several other guns (see link below) but, unfortunately, not the Sig p365. Is there another model - whether it be a Sig or any pistol - that is identical to the P365 in dimensions and will fit perfectly in the Ankle Lite? I really loved the feel of the Galco Ankle Lite and would love to carry the P365 in one... Your thoughts?...or maybe a different manufacturer's ankle holster that is just as comfortable (unlikely, since Galco really hit a home run with the Ankle Lite???...etc.. As always, thanks in advance. http://www.galcogunleather.com...lster-_8_6_1021.html

How about the Ankle Glove, they make that model for the 365. I have Ankle Gloves for Glock 26 and 43 and they are very comfortable. ETA: check out Desantis also, I have one that is very similar to the Ankle Lite and I like it.

The thing is, the Ankle GLOVE is not the 'soft' material shell and is, instead, a 'hard shell'...I've used the hard shell ankle holsters many times, including the Galco, but never found a really comfortable one... The "Lite" soft shell/holder/holster/main body/whatever one might choose to call it is MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE than the 'hard shell"...Those hard shell ones get really uncomfortable when you're (like me) walking frequently on your job or wherever...Some people have suggested a different IWB or shoulder rig or whatever, but, none of those would work for me, since my employer "forbids" guns and would rather see you be randomly executed or mugged and killed on your way home etc etc than allow you to protect yourself by carrying...(and it is literally not possible, due to the constraints and activities associated with my job, for me carry anywhere else (IWB or shoulder or deep conceal/etc etc) than my ankle...hence the need for a very VERY comfortable ankle holster for this awesome little P365....

I am very happy with the Gould & Goodrich I carry a 43 in as backup everyday. They have a 365 model. http://www.gouldusa.com/produc...age=1&id_option=2300 ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. If you really like the Galco Ankle Lite, on their list, the PM9 is pretty damn close to a P365. I use my PM9 and P365 interchangeably in the same DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. Honestly, I don't know that I wouldn't call or email Galco and see if they'll add the P365 to their lineup, seems like a win-win for all involved. __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Do---or do not. There is no try. |
I’ve carried my P365 off duty in a Galco Ankle Glove and it’s EXTREMELY comfortable and secure. No problems whatsoever.

Slightly off topic, I hope you can help. I've never tried an ankle holster and was wondering where they are worn. Yeah I know, on the ankle. Are they normally worn on the dominant side? Right ankle If you're right handed? And what side of the ankle is normal, inside or outside. I'm sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm an inexperienced dummy.

Traditionally they are worn on the weak hand inside of the leg. So I am right handed, and I wear the ankle holster on the inside of my left leg, just above my ankle. Also, I found over 30 years of wearing ankle holster‘s that it helps to have a sock which is thicker than dress socks. I usually wear black cotton tube type socks. Those offer a little bit of insulation between the holster and your leg. You need to cinch up ankle holster’s fairly tight so that they don’t move or slip down over your ankle.

An interesting question that I’ve pondered for some time. If the gun is one’s one and only weapon, it should be worn on the inside of the ankle on the side opposite one’s dominant hand. I.e., for a right-handed shooter, it should be on the inside of the left leg. It’s a little more discreet in that position rather than outside of the right leg, plus it’s less likely to be bumped against doors, furniture, etc., but it’s still readily accessible. It may also be easier and more efficient to use one’s left hand to pull up the pants leg while using the right to draw the gun. If it’s necessary to draw the gun with the left hand, it would be far more difficult if it’s on the outside of the right leg. If, however, it’s worn as a backup weapon, for example by a law enforcement officer, then it should be on the inside of the dominant side leg. My rationale for that is there’s a good chance that a backup weapon is being drawn because one’s dominant hand is disabled. For a right-handed user, it would be easiest to draw the gun with the left hand if it’s on the inside of the right leg. It would still be accessible by the right hand, though, without too much more difficulty if necessary; or it could be drawn with the left hand and easily transferred to the right. Again, if it’s on the outside of the right leg, it would be very difficult to reach with one’s left hand. I admit, though, that my belief that a backup gun should be on the inside of the dominant side leg isn’t shared by many LEOs. I once conducted a poll here about the question, and only a small minority of respondents said they carried there. ► 6.4/93.6

https://www.thewilderness.com/...kle-holster-leather/ I wore an original, with a 642 for 10 years. Just about wore it out and bought another. The original company went out of business. Wilderness (the belt people) started making them. Very comfortable. Very secure. (at least with a 642).

I carry my 365 in an ankle holster all the time. It's a simple affair I picked up at a gun show for around thirty bucks. Not a "hard" system, all soft nylon with Velcro. I wear it on the inside of my left leg and I am right handed. Very comfortable, never slips or moves and I hardly know it's there. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

I carry a P320SC in a Desantis Apache Ankle holster every night at work. It works, but my Galco Ankle Glove that I have for my G26 is much nicer. IMO the Ankle Glove is the gold standard. Unfortunately they don't make one for the P320.

Do they make a ankle lite in a Glock 42 if so it fits the p365. For sure. Sorry I didn’t read other entries. This message has been edited. Last edited by: dgb2324,

I have carried my S&W 442/642 in a Desantis Apache Ankle holster as well as a Ruger LC9, try that they make it for the P365. https://www.desantisholster.com/apache-ankle-rig/ James We the unappreciated must do the unimaginable and see the unthinkable to protect the ungrateful

I vote for this one too; it's how I carry my P290. Secure, and less obtrusive than my Galco or Desantis ankle models.

Another how to question. Do you try to cover the holster with a sock or longer pants? If you are seated at an office or restaurant, how do you keep from showing your gun?

Renegade is what you seek - now made by The Wilderness Product Company. https://www.thewilderness.com/...volvers-xhd-elastic/ I used their products from about 1994-2016. On duty , off duty, whenever needed. J frames mostly, a P232 for a bit and even a P290 for quite some time. They are entirely relevant. I only stopped carrying that method, as my left ankle sustained some significant damage and even though I'm well back to 100%, I'm not mentally ready to push my luck....personal problem...but their holsters are fantastic. The padding, that looks excessive at first, will compress down and conform to your leg. you won't really know it's there after a while.

Just getting back to the original posters query, and my recommendation, I borrowed a friends Galco Ankle Lite for the PM9. The model number is AL460B, and the SIG P365 fits in it perfectly. So if you were sold on the Galco Ankle Lite using the G43, and we all know everyone is different, that is the way I'd go... __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/
