The only Rugers that I've shot where I liked the triggers have been ones laced with aftermarket parts that addressed the factory shortcomings. I suppose that I just never came to terms with the notion that to get a decent trigger out of a Ruger, I had to go out and spend even more money when I could have it right out of the box with a Buck Mark.

It is true that the Ruger triggers are generally not as good as the Buckmark triggers but I actually bought my Rugers as projects. I installed Volquartsen triggers on most of them just because I enjoy it. I haven't shot the S&W. I'd like to try one of those but I have far too many rimfire pistols as it is.

I've got a MKII with the tapered bull barrel. I put on a fiber optic front, and extended safety and the easy take-down pin. It's perfect. Even stock I thought the MKII was the best of the bunch.
