What is the period correct magazine and plastic case for my KG date code German P228? Does Sig USA still sell magazine for this or is eBay my only chance? Thanks!

Were they still using “zipper back” mags then?

I don’t believe zipper back were used in 1996. But they did use dovetail in 1994. I believe my 1998 were ”seamless”. But this is also for the .40 P229. It’s possible they did it differently for the 9mm P228.

KG (1996) P228 would be box #3 in the pic below.

The magazine for it in 1996 (in the US) would be the 10-round German dovetail back, due the Clinton AWB law.




If The Philippines has no magazine restriction, then it would be the full capacity 13-rounder dovetail.

Thanks! And yes- we don’t have magazine capacity rule here we can even buy aftermarket 18 rounder Mecgars…unfortunately my 228 is missing its factory magazine(and case)..i just want to complete it.

^^^ SIG Germany no longer exists. fleabay would be your best bet for the mag. I could suggest that you put a WTB in the Classifieds here, but I'm not sure anyone is willing to ship international.
