So, came into a bit of cash and since most of my normal use firearm holes are filled I am looking to something a but special. Looking to grab a standard P210, and while I have read numerous positive things here I am still on the fence. Also looking at a Dan Wesson LW commander, I had a valor and it was a very nice 1911. Just did not like carrying it as much as my ugly pistols. Also tempted to try and find another p228, I have always loved the 228, I have had 4. Last one went to a member here....Doc, if you ever want to sell, please let me know A couple questions for those that have one...or more of the new P210. How does it carry? Who makes holsters for it? Does anyone make tritium or FO sights for it? So please share your thoughts on the P210 standard, thought about the model with adjustable sights but the grip is huge and I hate front serrations.

I have both the P210A standard and the target models. Both are great shooters. I have not carried either, but Mitch Rosen does make holsters for them. The standard variant has dovetail sight cuts, which should allow for more sighting options.

I have a target model with Hogue wood grips and it's a great shooter. I don't carry it, but if I had it years ago I would have shot bullseye and PPC with it.

I definitely would/did. Currently have a generic leather holster for my P210 Standard, but have a Kirkpatrick on order. I also replaced the sights with some solid black ones (not too high on the three-dot system) -- the P210 Standard is compatible with the usual aftermarket selection of P22X sights. General feeling is that the P210 is the natural alternative to the high-quality 1911, which has become a nearly generic commodity. The best centerfire groups I have fired have come from my P210s (I also have a Swiss-made model), which get far more trigger time, relative to the 1911s at my house. I just like them better in almost every way. If I were a major .45 proponent, of course, it would send me back to the 1911 -- but I'm not.

Don't know if I'd want to carry it without really getting used to the trigger, very light (target) trigger, 2.75 lb., with quite a bit of pre-travel. I was getting some inadvertent double taps when I 1st started shooting mine. That was just me, & @ 75 my "Wyatt Earp" days are in the past. Very nice pistol, IMO.

This ^^^^^ I don't know about the standard, but the trigger on my P210A is way too light for an SD pistol, IMO. "America is at that awkward stage. It carries more or less like a slightly rounded 1911, about as you would expect. The main issue being the weight of the all-steel frame. I have concealed carried it IWB on several occasions as a test, and it can work, but ultimately concealed IWB carry is not its niche -- combat tupperware is just dramatically more convenient for that purpose. However, I do often carry it off-body, including regular situations where IWB carry of *anything* can present a major risk of "frightening the horses." In that role, the P210 is as convenient as anything else. Trigger control is a matter of practice and familiarity, of course. The Standard does not have a "hair trigger," but I would not want to put myself in a situation of regularly operating 10+ pound triggers, while at the same time using the P210 for carry. Nothing I shoot on a regular basis has a trigger heavier than 5lb.

Well, If you were on the fence about purchasing the Standard P210, you might want to consider making a decision rather quickly. Saw on Sig's website that they are discontinuing the Standard P210. The are probably just going to focus on the Target model. This message has been edited. Last edited by: wjt4,

I was FINALLY able to acquire a P210A Target. The hype is to be believed, BUT... The gun is kind of a one trick pony. Its limited capacity, expensive magazines (for what they are), and poor aftermarket holster support are limiting. It's a good gun for the man that has everything. Otherwise you may be better served with a Shadow 2, 2011, or even a P320 X5 Legion.

Well, yeah. It is, after all, a target pistol. The grip, alone, is rather a dead give-away "America is at that awkward stage. Not to make this more complicated, but why not split the difference by holding out for the 210 Carry?
