P365 Grip Length: Original 10-round or 12-round Login/Join
Do---or do not.

For concealment, I've always carried my off-duty P365 with the original short 10-round magazine with the slightly flanged baseplate to help with concealment.

I'm seeing more and more people with the +2 baseplate that provides a longer (and better) overall grip. Opinions---is having a longer baseplate to hold onto better than a shorter magazine with a little less concealability?

For me, the 10-rounder even with the non-pinky base does just fine. Deep concealment capable, and I can still have all my fingers on the grip. The factory 12-rounder for the original P365 obviously gives you a longer grip but gives up deep concealment capability compared to the 10-rounder. If you want the extra 2 rounds but give up almost nothing in terms of deep concealment, take a look at magguts.

Thanks! At 10 yards, I can hit what I need to with the 10-rounder, but am obviously not as accurate as I'd like.

The Magguts stuff works great from a functional standpoint too.
I have a +2 in my 12 round magazines and also a similar kit for my Shield that I don't carry much anymore.
Both have worked flawlessly with all ammo and add almost nothing to the length.

Yup. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even mentioned it. Smile

Guns are much like shoes in that, if they don't fit properly, they're nearly useless. Personally, both 10 and 12 rounders work well for me, the 15's are a bit awkward. I encourage first time buyers, especially women, to handle and fire as many handguns as the can before purchasing.

Do they even make the 15's any longer? Been out of stock for a while I think and can't find them online. That being said, the 17 round mags are about the same length, and I prefer them. The 15 round mags are weird. We are getting factory 21 round mags soon so that's a cool option.

I am willing to sacrifice a little length to get a better grip.

I added a Wilson Combat grip module (which by the way is so simple to install) and im more than happy. 12 round mags are not flush fit.

Anything bigger than the 10 rounder is not happening for my pocket carry

Magguts

I put the 10+2 version in one of my 10 round magazines but don't yet trust it: First couple rounds take a lot of force to get into the magazine (follower or spring catches on something) although subsequent rounds load normally. When filled to 12 rounds (lots more effort here) the mag is extremely difficult to seat in the pistol. So much it doesn't seem suitable as a reload under any stress.

10+1 (eleven) in the OEM magazine is my normal carry. So far I'm questioning if 12+0 (twelve) due to questions regarding forcing the mag into the pistol is worth the cost.

On the plus side the tiny additional length of the Magguts seems custom designed for my hands.

BTW SIG OEM 12 round magazines rattle when loaded. What's up with that? (Two samples.)

I'd suggest rechecking the assembly of the parts first.

The stock magazines were a bit hard to load when new and the Magguts are similar. I use the Uplula for all my magazines at the range just to make life easy. I tap the bottom anyway to seat the mag but with a total of 15 on board, I'm not all that concerned.

I measured the bottom of mine to put a number on how much it protrudes from the bottom of the frame of my 12 +2.
Mine is .169" (.187 is 3/16 for reference) so an insignificant length. A stock one is flush with the bottom of the frame but the +2 looks like a normal baseplate on any other gun to me.

I have some big paws and like the factory 12. Part #365-9-12 for the 365 frame with the base plate for pinky. It’s not that much bigger compared to the flat 10

I bought the 365X because I can't tolerate my pinky overhanging.

I can give you examples of Glock, HK, CZ and Walther mags rattling. I don’t think I’ve ever had it happen with any of my SIGs. Point is it’s common across all double stack magazines.
