X-Five Collector Question Login/Join

Recently acquired a P226 X-Five lightweight. I can’t find a whole ton of information on them other than; they were made by Sig Germany, they have an alloy frame vs the stainless frame and they can also be called X-five sports. I’m curious if there are any collectors in here that can give me more information, like the alloy is, how many were made, etc. the gun is unfired other than the test shots from the factory. I’ve called Sig US already and they weren’t able to get me any information. The gun is not for sale, I would just like to know a bit more about the gun. Thanks

Not much else to say, except what you already know. First gen Mastershop Xgun in 2-tone, with the alloy railed frame. The 1st gen guns have the "S" on the right side of the slide, near the muzzle end. That's why people sometimes call them Sport. But, the real Sport SIGs were the precursors of the Xguns. As to production number, the consumers will never know unless they have access to SIG DE records.

Very few Mastershop models have their production numbers expressly released by the German factory, via letters from their Head of Sales. They are the X5 Facettes (#25), the X5 (#3) and X6 (#7) Midnights, and the X5 (#36) and the P210 Super Target (#36) Final Editions. Everything else is unknown and just guessing.

Thank you, I appreciate the info. Knowing what you know about the X-Fives, if you had to throw out a number, I get that this would just be a guess, but how many Lightweights do you think they made?

A few hundred? Who knows. They also made the X6 version.

I have seen the X-Six, it is definitely on my list. But thank you. Do you know of or heard of anyone that might have access to Sig Germany’s production records?

^^^ You might want to contact germansportguns.de. My intel told me the former SIG DE's Head of Sales is now a senior guy there. He might or might not be able to help you. I don't know the guy.

I've been following this thread. It seems to be only about the German made X Series guns. I saw the new USA version on the Sig site and wonder how they compare in quality and price. Am I confusing two completely different models?

Q - Did you by chance get one of the three X5 Midnights that were made?

See the comparison HERE. Bottom line is, yes, they are completely different.

No. At the time, when I asked about it, MMBI decided to keep one and already sold the other two. Later on, they put theirs up on GB, and it sold for a whopping around $25k. Way too rich for my blood.

Just piggy backing on the thread. What do the numbers in parentheses such as (#25) signify? Surely not the number made.
What distinguished the Super Target Final Edition from other Super Targets?

Exactly what they are.

SIG's history timeline (from Suhl 1751 all the way to Newington, NH 2007) engraved on top of the slide of the 6-inch black version. The Final Editions were made for friends and VIPs of SIG DE and were not for sale to the general public. But then, some were eventually offered for sale by those folks. I was offered the serial #1 set (both the X5 and the P210), but, at the time couldn't find enough changes under the couch. Frown It's a collector's dream set.
