I bought an LCP II in .22 LR for NPE carry. Sights are terrible but not so bad after painting the front bright orange. Shoots reasonable accurate and the trigger isn't that bad. Good to know the same holster will fit a Max, might look at that next.

I've got the original, an LCPII, and the Max. Each evolution has had some noticeable improvements over the previous version. When I travel out of state, I tend to carry a micro-9mm or the Ruger LCP Max (if I plan on pocket carry). So far, it's proven to be completely reliable and the Lehigh Defense "Deep Penetration" solid copper bullets provide sufficient performance to make this a winner in my eyes.

The original LCP is the best for pocket, I think. A lot is said about the comparability of the Max, but those extra rounds do add weight. I personally don't wish to carry anything heavier than a fully-loaded original LCP in pants/short pocket, or sportcoat/suit breast pocket.

Model 3701 is now $179.99. I can't tell if it's a I or II.
I like my RUger LCP. It is pretty snappy even with the modified Hogue grip. It came apart once and I put the parts in a plastic bag mailed to Ruger and they fixed it. No charge and quick.

This, the Hogue Handall helps maintain a good grip on this little pistol, On mine I also installed a Galloway 13# recoil spring and a solid stainless steel recoil rod for improved functioning.

I like the max, like the sites better. If weight is an issue, just carry less rounds in it. But I don't find the weight to be a problem.
