I am not going to waste lot of time getting to pick some folks brains about the Sig Sauer P320-M17. As I mentioned in the introduction, I am new to the Sig brand of firearms. My initiation came about a month ago. Once I put a Wilson Combat frame on this one where it fit my hands a little better, I am liking it, a lot. There is something that is not working for me; my eyes are antiques and the factory sights are just too dang small for me to shoot it well. I have become a big fan of Truglo combo tritium/fiber optic sights that I have placed on several handguns. Alas, Truglo does not make a sight pair that fit this one. I have probably spent 12 hours online searching for sights more appropriate to my age and have become so frustrated, I might just sit down an cry about it.....I recently went through the same issues for my Colt Defender that I carry daily, and settled for Big Dots, but truth be known I don't like them either. Someone here must have worked their way through the problem, if so I could sure use some help. I see that I can get a front F/o sight from Dawson and I may just do that and black out my rear sights. I know this, Amazon is going to send the hit squad after me if I return one more set of sights that aren't made for this piece. I know that a lot of people would just put a red-dot on it and be happy, but I can't stand adding that bulk, and I am an iron sight guy. Somebody please tell me that there is a solution that I have been overlooking. Thanks in advance, Steve

I think you've answered your own question. If irons are all but impossible to use because of old eyes (trust me I know about that) & FO or painted sights aren't much better then you may have to swallow your disdain for a RDS. They really aren't that "bulky" & are a Godsend for those with aging eyes. They also are faster to get on target & more accurate at distance. That being said, they can be expensive if you need to mill your slide + the optic of your choice but They are the wave of the future, like it or not. They do have a learning curve but it's fairly easy to overcome & the benefits are worth every penny. Rom 13:4 If you do evil, be afraid. For he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

Look at LPA Sights as they have larger sights for your gun. What about Sig tall sights for a supressor?

You can get a Tru-Glo tritium/fiber optic front sight for your pistol, SIG sells it as their X-Ray sight... https://www.midwestgunworks.co...wi/prod/7400053-08-r It is out of stock right now, but hopefully there should be more available soon. I have these on a few of my SIG pistols and I find them to be the most visible for me. I don't worry so much about the rear sights so much, it is acquiring the front sight that is most important to me. Standard rear tritium dots with an X-Ray front work very well for me.

I have fiber optic Dawson sights on three full size P320's; those are set up for steel shoots and stuff like that. I have other P320's with trijicon XR's, and the yellow front in particular really stands out. If you're running a M17, it's set up to take an optic. If your eyes are finding most sights hard to spot, an optic may be the way to go. Forget varying focal planes. Look at the target, see the dot on the target.

Hope this link works. But I just use magnified shooting glasses. I get half my reading rx. So my reading glasses are +1.50 and my shooting glasses are +0.75. I am a big fan of the Hackathorn and the Sig X-ray sights. Big, colorful dot and a blacked out rear. Easy for my old eyes to pick up quickly. Might be worth a look.

Great suggestions thus far. Also - you might want to look at a round notch rear sight. You might sacrifice a little accuracy at distance but the front sight is much easier to pick up quickly. Good luck. I am getting there too - finally had to get prescription shooting glasses. Everything looks different now down range. ![]()

I have a P229 and recently put XS Big Dot sights on it about five months ago. Amazing difference in how well I can shoot. I'm 74 and couldn't see the front sight clearly. Things are much better. I went to the range yesterday and put 11 out of 12 shots into a three inch bullseye at seven yards. The sights are easy to find. I put a RDS on another pistol about a year ago. That sight also improved my marksmanship. I guess the common thread is my eyesight sucks and anything to help me see better helps. ____ I'm filled with gratitude for the blessings I've received.

With my aging eyes and the fact that no factory sights are in focus anymore, I found that the Meprolight Bullseye sight on the Sig P365 just works for me. Kind of like a RDS but way smaller and no batteries. Look at the target and bring the gun up. When you see the green (or red) bullseye, press the trigger. Now, you're not going to win Camp Perry with this set up, but for minute of bad guy groups, it's good to go for me! See if you can try one before you buy. It goes right into the rear dovetail so you don't have to alter anything on your slide. Good luck!

my eyeballs are not quite antiques yet, but are not factory fresh like they were years ago I have these on 2 of my SIG's (228/229) and like them a lot, not for Camp Perry type work, but great for me to use on steel, or self defense https://www.xssights.com/Handg...on_Page_pr-8208.aspx https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Look at TRU-Glo Tritium Fiber Optic (TFO) for your sighting needs. I'm a huge fan of them and have them on all guns that aren't SIGLite night sights.

I also have XS Sights on several pistols. Fast to pick up and I’m pretty accurate with them as well. Even out to some distance. But I have always preferred a VonStavenhagen type sight. I realize they may not be for everyone. Like you, I am somewhat hesitant about plunging into the RDS world. I have one on a GLOCK G40, but not on any carry guns. I have another issue with an RDS...I have astigmatism. So a 4MOA dot looks like a 10MOA cluster of grapes to me. Getting old sucks.
