Hi everyone, I have an interesting issue. I recently acquired an AA date code, stamped "Made in Germany" P225. what is interesting is that the serial number on the frame and the serial number on the slide are off by ONE digit, namely the last one. I've heard of mismatched serial numbers on rebuilds, etc. but off by the last digit? thoughts? thanks for ya'lls time! JC in ATX

Almost certainly a mistake at the time of the assembly of the pistol. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Very true. I have a KF P228 that I got in on a trade with member redleg2/9 that has one digit mismatch between the frame (B252000) and the slide/barrel (B251999). Thanks to the help of member 220parts, the info I got from the former manager at SIG DE is exactly what para is talking about. ![]() Q

It's funny. You can see what appears to be the stamp beginning to roll over, the "999", on the slide serial number of your P228.
