P229 came out for a couple of days this week for some out of town training. Wanted something bigger than the 43x but smaller than a full-size 320 with optic and WML for non-uniform carry.

99 % of the time it's a P245 with two 8-round magazines plus one round chambered, so 17 rounds of .45 ACP.

Rare exception, will carry a P938.

A P938 100% of the time, with one in the chamber, a Kimber Micro 9 eight round magazine in the magwell and a spare eight round magazine. Cocked and locked.

My bread and butter carry guns are either a ruger LCPII or J frame pocket carried.
I did the other day carry my glock 19.
For my environment and lifestyle a gun slipped in a pocket ( with appropriate holster) plus a reload works for me.

A P6 refreshed by the factory. And I replaced the antique mag springs with Wolf extra 5% springs. There went my "no lock back on empty" alibi.

Grip chopped 5th gen Glock 19 in warm weather. Just carried my P229 today during our trip to Cherokee National Forest. Always with at least one extra magazine.

I have a buddy, now passed, that basically looked like the poster child for a cross between a Hell’s Angel biker and a Viking. Helluva nice guy (don’t judge a book kids). Anyway he collected medieval weapons, battle axes, hammers, swords etc. I always told him that if somebody broke into my house and I greeted them with a 9mm handgun or a 12 gauge the situation would likely be contained. If he greeted a home invader charging down the stairs in his boxers with a battle axe screaming bloody murder said home invader would likely be rethinking EVERY life decision they had ever made in that moment. I can only imagine this would be similar to meeting a naked homeowner with a shoulder holster, especially if he yelled “honey get the ball gag, we got one!!!” Big Grin

That is right up there with,
Intruder: “But the jar is empty.”
Homeowner: “I know.”
(As I recall it, anyway. Smile )

Oh:
357 SIG P320 “Carry” model 90% of the time.
P365 the rest.
