Does anyone know if the NYPD members of the service are still approved or grandfathered in to carry the S&W 3914DAO? On duty and off duty?

I didn't see it listed on the most recent "approved list" I could find online. Thanks! Regards 18DAI

They say it’s approved for off duty. I have an NYPD 3914 and it’s a nice gun. Though I rarely carry it.

Per the NYPD Patrol Guide Section Uniforms and Equipment, Policy Number: 204-09, effective 11/18/20

There are 3 authorized duty Handguns:
Glock 17
Glock 19
SIG 226

The 5946 DAO is not available for new authorization, but it is authorized for officers that received previous authorization

Authorized Off duty semi autos:
Glock Model 26
S&W M&P Shield
Springfield Armory XDS

The Smith 3914, 3953 and the SIG 239 are not available for new authorization, but officers that previously received authorization can still carry them.

18DAI, I often rad your posts about 3rd Gen Smiths and learn things. It's my pleasure to lend a hand back. FYSA there may be other policy memos out there, but the patrol guide is a good reference and the link I posted is to 1/3 of the patrol guide.
