I am pretty sure I am gonna pick one of these up Tuesday to use as my work/around town backpack gun. Couple questions for the group: 1. Anyone think there is a better option? (I own a p365 but I like this revolver) it’s not the most efficient piece from size capacity/but it’s simple, should alway go boom and I think it’s sexy. 2. What do you like for a SD round in a 2” snub nose 357? (Can be either 38 or 357). What’s a good range practice round to match? I’ll pick up 100 rounds of SD ammo and 200 or so range rounds. 3. Looking for a simple easy clip on IWB holster either leather or kydex? Any suggestions? I typically carry AIWB. Thanks Amurr

I had a 3” for a while. I can’t explain it, it just felt cheap. Especially the hammer and trigger. I also hated the trigger reset and short stroked it several times, especially when firing fast. It was a great shooter and even with full house .357 mags it was okay to shoot. I ended up getting a 2” Kimber K6s and much prefer it. It’s also a 6 shot and just feels a lot more solid than the Colt. I’m sure the Colt is a fine revolver that would have lasted me a lifetime but I simply didn’t enjoy it like I thought I would so away it went. If you’ve got the Colt on the brain you’d probably better get the Colt. I’ve done that before where I wanted one gun but got something else for whatever reason, then ended up back at the gun shop buying the one I originally wanted too. At least around here the Colt revolvers are holding value well. I had mine for almost a year and sold it for about $50 less than I paid for it new, and it sold within a day. Worst case you don’t like it, you likely won’t be out a ton of money. Personally my favorite SD round for a .38/.357 revolver I own is the “FBI load” .38+P 158gr LSWCHP. Buffalo Bore, Winchester and Remington make copies. Last I checked Buffalo Bore had some in stock. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

If you can find it, I like the Speer Short Barrel Gold Dot 135 Gr. load in 357 Magnum. It's slightly faster than the same load in 38 +P, and very controllable.

I literally just got back from the range where I put 100 rounds (.38 WWB 130 grain fmj) thru my new 2" King Cobra Carry. I have the version with the hammer (not bobbed).I got it yesterday. Get one !! I am a huge fan of this revolver and of the other new Colt offerings. I have a couple Pythons (3" and 4") as well. The trigger was awesome, the sights well defined and the gold bead front sits nicely in the trench. The grips felt as if they were made for my hand. Because of this, .38 was easy to shoot and I would not hesitate to go magnum if I were on the trail. As I said in another post, the Colt factory is right here in town and my shop is a few miles away. The reps have visited the shop and say there is more good stuff to come. The purchase by CZ has really created a new era at Colt. For what it's worth the magnum rounds I would carry in mine if I wanted to go the .357 route would be the Winchester 110gr. white box semi jacketed hollow points. I know there are more potent and heavier bullet .357 offerings, but these would be a nice upgrade in power over .38 without killing you on the recoil.

That's my preferred .357 snubby load as well, but good luck finding it right now. You're probably going to have to take what you can get. I picked up a box of Hornady Critical Duty a couple of weeks back at the LGS...it was the first factory defensive .357 Mag ammo that I've seen in over a year. I reload my practice ammo, so I can't really help with suggestions there. I'm loving all the new revolver posts. Seems wheelguns are making a comeback!
