I spoke with Bruce on Friday and he expressed his frustrations with not being able to get the pistols off to there owners. He also mentioned that he would be shipping them out with a limited number of magazines with the rest of the mags to follow when the vendor came through.

9mm,

I'm already the butt of jokes. Every time I mention "my Sig 10mm" I get laughed at. If I had the gun in my hand, even without a mag, I could hit them with it!

I was considering converting these to stripper-clip feed, but...seriously we are going to ship with the prototype mags on hand and deliver the rest of the production mags ASAP. I won't keep you waiting longer now, there's little point. I'll be in touch with each 10mm owner as well in the next day or two and work out invoices, delivery details and so forth. We'll make sure everyone has plenty of extra mags to work with once the vendor gets them into my hot little hands.

Thanks Bruce, wish I was in on the first order and I'm sure you'll wait to have all the next 10MM Mags you need before notifying me to send mine in. Can't wait though as I'm sure to be reading range reports by others who were in on the first order. Frown

Bruce, you always go to such great lengths to take care of your customers! Little did you or anyone else know about "Obama frenzy" about the time the demand in the industry exploded! The current scarcity of some mags has all mag manufacturers scrambling!

Thank you! We all do our best. As you know, we're at the mercy of our vendors and their suppliers. Between a soft overall economy and this weird panic buying syndrome, our vendors are all buried. However, in all honesty this mag development process is my fault, in that I could have gone with a faster expedient by modifying something more or less off-the-shelf.
Instead, I went the quality route and asked them to help us develop a more purpose-built magazine for these that could also eventually feed back into a superior .45 version as well.

That meant tooling, time and communication...and lots of money. Eek At least we'll have 10mm mags that WORK.

And pretty soon now! Just got off the phone with our mag vendor. It's been an interesting process. I'm thankful for everyone's patience while I muddled through this R&D stuff.

The payoff for y'all will be reliable pistols and lots of spare mags. For me, peace of mind.
I dare hope that's all worth the extra months of waiting.

You can be sure that we will not accept new orders until the following conditions obtain:

1) all existing 10's are safely in the hands of their owners, with the full compliment of mags, and everyone is pleased

2) we have every bit and piece of the process ready to go in hand, including mags

3) and we have enough prospective orders in line to make it efficient.

While I couldn't have forseen this mag thing upfront, it's still my responsibility. I think it's understandable that I have earned an increased responsibility to assure you all that the next run won't be delayed for any possible reason!

Bruce, all of us wouldn't expect anything else from you! We know it will be great, R&D and other issues take time, especially while they're also trying to make and sell other products for other clients, as well! When they come will undoubtedly be first rate!

Well, I'm waiting on the next run. I've worked a way out for me to own one of these fine 10mm beauties. Not to sound selfish, but I'm happy that the guns haven't been sent to their owners as yet.....I can catch up on my reading of the posts and celebrate with you all when that moment comes! Big Grin

Sorry for the double post. Should have put it here to start with.

I spoke today with Neal Hogue at Hogue Grips. I am having them make me a set of custom Stainless Steel Grips for the 220/10mm Grayguns conversion project. They are a bit expensive, but so is this whole project.

I like heavy guns.
I like large calibers.
I like heavy guns in large calibers.
I like the idea of adding the extra weight of stainless steel grips to my 220/10mm.

I've spoken with GrayGuns to confirm they can use these grips in the conversion. I'm going to have GGI give them the Super-Black treatment as well, because God wants all my guns to be black.

If you're interested, drop Hogue a line.

Details:
--------
Material: 304 Stainless Steel
Weight: 292 grams / 10.3 ounces
Finish: Bead Blasted
Surface: Checkered
Lead Time: 45-60+ days
Cost: $350

Now all I gotta do is make the hammer return block from aluminum or stainless and you'll have an all metal gun.....guess you're not gonna be going through any metal detectors any time soon.

Ack!!!
Regular steel or stainless please. Aluminum is just barely better than plastic.

I'll start asking around about getting the hammer block made up.

Hiya! It's update time. There's a few of you I haven't contacted directly yet, but I'll be calling you tomorrow.

As everyone knows, of all things we've just been waiting on magazines for these babies. These pistols have been finished otherwise for a long time now, too long.

I believe I can now finally say the delivery date is coming upon us with reasonable certainty.

I've been assured by our vendor that the new corrected magazines have been stamped, the mag release slots burned in by EDM, and are being finished up for scheduled delivery to GGI by the first week of August, or about three weeks from today.

We are preparing a batch of specially fitted, new GGI extended magazine releases for these pistols to go with the new mags.

With that in mind, Flork and I are going to finalize your invoicing in the next two weeks. We will then triple-check, retest & prepare each pistol for shipment to you within 48 hours of the magazine order's arrival here at GGI.

If I haven't talked to you yet, I invite your call at 541-468-3840. I want to make sure I have discussed your order with you personally before we invoice and ship. After all this time and given all your patience, we aren't going to allow any room for error.

Thanks!

-Bruce
